Anyone recall what the colored dots on bottom of cans denote for the 2-3-4 year old barleywines? Received a set but no idea what each one is.

No idea what the dots mean but the 'year' should be clearly on the label on the front of the can. At least they are on mine!

That 3 year Brandy Barrel Barleywine is pretty great. Also, $18 for a 4 pack LOL. CW pricing has always made me wonder how much we're being fleeced by pretty much every other brewery.

Yep - thinking the same on both accounts.
The 4yr is good, but the 3yr seems to hit the sweet spot.

I'm talking the Brandy version. You talking bourbon? Either way, got one of those 3 year Bourbons too. And an Iced. Excited to try both!

Be sure to let us know how you like them. We expect a review before the next release, or within 2 years. Whichever comes first. Time’s a ‘tickin.

I only got the 4yr bourbon, 3 yr brandy, and a single can of the iced. After having all 3 my biggest takeaway is that the people who showed up to this release with handcarts actually had it right this time (someone ahead of us in line spent $1,200 if I remember the insane number correctly). The regular brandy BA was previously my all time favorite CW beer but now I think it's a toss up for me between the 4yr BBA and 3yr brandy. Definitely the best beer I've drank period so far in 2022. Wish I had bought all of them and more of the ones that I did get. Even the iced surprised me how much I liked it.

LOL - I was tired/drunk and missed the word "brandy".
I very much enjoyed the Brandy one, but I was talking about the bourbon. They are all fantastic for the price - no question.

On my active list of life's biggest regrets, not spending $1200 on more of these beauties sits in the number 3 spot.

I always wondered the same thing and have thought about it a little. Here's my theory:
    - Economies of scale. CW is a relatively large or mid-size brewery in the space, they're able to buy barrels in bulk and brew beers in bulk as well.

    - Barrel selection and price is a fun factor. What kind of barrels are these guys getting vs Side Project or other guys, what's their cost?

    - Wort quality. Many regard CW BA beers as "thin", which is fine, but it definitely costs more money to brew beers that have a higher starting and higher finishing gravity, which is one of the things that makes a beer "thick".
