Was there some kind of recent purge or deletion of beers in the database? In the last week or so, I seem to have lost about 30 or so beer ratings/reviews. I noticed because two weeks ago or so I passed the 4500 ratings benchmark, but now I am back below that count. Just wondering why a good number of beers (or just reviews/ratings?) would have been deleted.
Nope. We don't do database purges. And while the mod team might merge or delete a beer here or there, it's a rare occurrence.
Huh, that is weird then. Any other theory as to why that large of a change in my total number of beers rated may have occured?
Well I'm currently on vacation in Portland so have drank and rated about 40 new-to-me beers this past week. But I know I'm not crazy.
Even more curious is that your latest review is dated tomorrow. (Posting this on the evening of April 30, 2022 -- and your review of Upright Anniversary IPA is dated May 1, 2022)
Welcome to the future, Steve. The year is 2032. Children are no longer allowed inside breweries. Hazy IPA’s are considered a boring and dated style with no complexity. The secondary market for fruited sours has completely crashed and the idea of trading rare bourbon for Side Project beers is totally foreign. You have made it. Welcome to the future.
I thought of that, but it doesn't seem consistent across the forum. I haven't checked closely in a while, but I'm pretty sure I see my local time when I add a review. Definitely with a post.
Reviews I post at 8:00 p.m. EST or later, which is most of them, are dated the next day. For instance my last review is a barleywine dated today. I definitely did not have it for breakfast. Before we moved the clocks ahead 7:00 was the cut off time. Weirdly my posts are time stamped correctly for my time zone.
I usually post a review in the afternoon, I'll have to pay attention to what registers on my next one.
Dates are adjusted for whatever timezone you selected in your profile. Default is GMT. That said, user beer lists are currently GMT; regardless of your selected timezone.
4,500 ratings? First off impressive! Second, and to answer your question. Perceptual disturbances and confusion are early signs of hepatic encephalopathy….
First off: Yes, I looked it up. Second, given your avatar, you may know of what you speak. ;-) (Just having a little fun.)
So you are drinking nearly a 6-pk of new beers every day for a week while also rating them all? wow. I would not trust my judgment after the first couple beers in a day, unless you are basing your ratings on 4 oz. tasters. Your liver deserves a medal.
