Another day another dollar another AAL in the books.

The disappointing choice of the night for me is Rolling Rock. "Why?" You may ask, and to that I answer, I have an unhealthy obsession with all things "cheap and cheerful" as Jeremy Clarkson would say. Unfortunately you have to sample to find the cheerful out of the just miserably cheap, but hey I've had a few good laughs along the way and being a young man living in the denver metro area, I gotta say the prices are appealing.
As I spend 20 dollars on a 6 beer impulse purchase earlier. But hey 25 oz for under 2 bucks and a beer I haven't reviewed yet? I'm in!

Honestly I don't get all the hate. It doesn't have that bad cheap smell to it even in the glass, and there's actually a bit of a malt aftertaste to it. Certainly not the cream of the crop of lagers, but I'd rather have this in a glass than pbr bud or coors Banquet.

Good morning all and happy Wednesday! Es ist Mittwoch meine kerle as the German says. It is Wednesday my dudes!

Just got back from a greenhouse where I occasionally volunteer for a friend. No paycheck for this, but a shared sixer now and then.

On my way home I have bought Paulaner Münchner Hell, I needed only one beer today; but a 500ml one and low ABV. That will do just fine.

    Hi all Advocates,
after a few days of absence due to a weekend of fire, I send you a spectacular beer that I had the pleasure of uncorking on a very special occasion.......... the relegation of the opposing basketball team, with the which we did the Derby but which has now gone to the lower division

Bye, Bye guys, we will miss you... maybe...

Logsdon Farmhouse Ales (Washougal, Washington, USA) - ZUUR PRUIM - Barrel aged Farmhouse Ale with plums (7.5%)

75 cl bottle, "Logsdon Family Reserve Series - Limited Release", Bottle 2/13 "Best by: 11/2021", Drunk on 05/01/2022.
She is a Farmhouse Ales that has been aged 4 months in French oak barrels, to which "Hollywood" and "Yummy Beaut" quality plums have been added and left in cask for another 6 months. Subsequently, the blend between this beer and another spontaneously fermented "basic" beer (it will be another Farmhouse Ale without additions) takes place and is refermented in the bottle.

Freshly uncorked, intense aroma of plum jam and almost fruit juice.
Poured is wonderful: orange color, white foam with little consistency that does not disappear immediately.
In the mouth it is simply DIVINE: soft entry (but not exactly sweet), fruity taste of yellow plum, I could also say apricot for the nuances it takes, a sour note not of bretta, but of that tartaric proper of fruit fermented in maceration, of process natural. More than an acid note (sour) one could speak of the typical sourness of fruit, nothing else.
Clean dry finish on the tongue, very light dehydration. Intense notes of ripe yellow fruit on the palate (yellow plums, apricots, peaches ...). I seem to pick up slightly woody hints immediately after the tartaric note.
No funky or farmhouse notes, but medium body and lively carbonation typical of a Farmhouse Ale.

Wonderful work with fruit, total balance between intensity of fruity taste, acid / sour note and ease of drinking.
A true masterpiece for me, in spectacular form with a splendid balance between beer density, intensity of taste and full control of sweetness and acidity.

    Howdy all.
Went AWOL yesterday for some real-life beer-time with friends out and it was nice to be outside for a bit. Today? The usual N/A starter on a slower to start morning, then out for more leg abuse, maybe gym if I'm up for it after. Hard to keep the old dawgs going and motivated.
    Cheers!

Roll Your Own Way. Imperial Stout from Hop Butcher.
This one too I found in the supermarket. Prices of most fancy 'supermarket beers' I posted lately are somewhat like bottle-shops and online stores here in NW Europe by the way.
    Cheers

Went to buy my annual supply of Waldos this year and popped a bottle last night and it was a MAJOR WTF moment. I have been buying a case of Waldos every year for a long ass time. Seems those days are over. It's a beer I look forward to every year and was always one of the best, but its apparent they royally f'd over this beer now that Lag sold out. Oh well, back to my Outer Range and Weldwerks supply here in CO.

That a super enjoyable "everyday" beer. I switch back and forth between it and Weihenstephaner Helles (both canned packaging) when I want a German Helles. Cheers!

Lunch beer! Another new beer to me. Fox Farm Fohn Kellerbier 5.6% ABV. This a tricky style to pull off for packaging & sale. Fox Farm sure did. Good looking pour that is surprisingly clear for an unfiltered beer. It has some nice floral/spicy/cracker aromas and flavors. Soft medium body. Moderate clean bitter snap. Very well balanced too. This would pair well with a lot of foods.
Thanks @colby600 for introducing me to this brewery.:+1:

Thanks for kicking off @JZH1000 , and great beer @ATL6245 , not to mention your always fine selection in music accompaniment.

Ambitious Side by Side for me, of my favorite annual Barrel Aged release with four year of age between the two.

Full treatment in the Share Your Side by Side thread. Bottom line, drink the (and nearly all beer) early and often, cellar / store at your own risk. Sitll enjoying both, may return later today with a cuvee as it is doubtful I'll knock out 24 ounces now (about 8 or 9 ounces in at this juncture).

Will take a nice walk in the beautiful (though still chilly) Chicago Sun once I awake from a near certain nap.

By the way, I hope they ship those wonderful Brooklyn cans this way someday soon.

Tell me about it… I just realized it was supposed to be one and done today. Never trust a beer drinker.

BTW yep it’s nice to find the 500ml version of this beer in can.
