    Good morning BAs! Car was packed, suit on, started driving to Miami for a week long trial…case settled! Back home now drinking a tasty oatmeal porter - “Won’t Back Down” by deciduous brewing company, New Market NH:

    Roasty coffee nose and taste. An excellent breakfast beer. Lot’s to do around the house…kinda glad my trial settled. Cheers and have a marvelous Monday y’all!

    Passed on a formal cellar review. It's 4 1/2 years old, the coffee is gone, gone baby gone, but it is still drinking very well, with the roast malt and barrel taking over.

    Speaking of gone, where the hell did the past 35 years go?!

    It may be a bit slow at the bar today but the company is outstanding; it is a glorious bright somewhat cooler day here in Sunshine City…and I’m drinking a delicious new to me beer - Anchorage Brewing Company’s “It Gets Better” a DIPA brewed with Nelson, Galaxy and Sabro, then DDH with Nelson:

    Lately, I’ve not been feeling the love for Nelson. The beers have been skunky, strong grape must, earthy; not cat pissy like Mosaic or Simcoe, but over the top aroma wise and off putting to me…I remember falling in love with Nelson while drinking in NZ a few years ago, it paired so well with other hops and lent its own special nose/flavor to the whole which was a beautiful drink…today, I’m in love again!

    No canning date, a recent Tavour purchase. Poured at 53°. Two fingers of white foam; excellent cap retention; lasting medium lacing; heavy ring; opaque deep gold liquid. Nose is white wine, lemongrass and tangerine. Taste is mild bitter citrus hops; firm malt base; semi sweet white grape/wine; passion fruit, pineapple and tangerine; tropical fruit finish. Medium body; moderate minus carbonation; almost juicy feel; no warmth from 8.4% abv; no astringency. Overall a delicious well crafted beer; no musty or skunky odors; flavors of white wine, tropical and citrus fruit; why I loved Nelson before…I’m 16 and in love again…

    A new to me beer from a new to me brewery, a Saluki Dunkledog from Big Muddy,a downstate brewery. Weather started off good, temps dropping, wind picking up and the clouds have moved in.[​IMG]
