Shut up nerd. Also, cool idea. And I’d make the same argument for a gravity cask of Standard. 3 side by side.

Biere d’Alsace is on and it’s awesome. Seems more bitter to me this year, less of that corn chex sweetness I remember from last year. But still so damn good.

A siphoned off keg – from the serving tank – seems unlikely. But - when it comes to your turn on the sidepull:
    • Refuse to tilt the glass by 45°
    • Refuse to submerge the faucet
    • Refuse to utilize the dimmer switch, by priming dense/creamy foam atop “clear beer”
    • Refuse...
...ask for a stange/aerated glass and compare. Or, perhaps the

…could be substituted for a comparison of lukr vs canned “slow pour”

Sorry if I missed it but will Biere d Alsace cans be available in Brighton on Friday?

They can The Standard, probably not from a serving tank, so I was wondering if they kegged any for distro and could tap one of those? Again, I was just being nerdy, not expecting this to actually happen!

All Lukr pours are directly from a lagering tank (which acts as a serving tank, there is no difference, the beer is coming straight from the lagering tank). Occasionally we'll switch it to a keg pour as we need to empty the lagering tank of a keg or two to make way for the batch behind it. If we have a keg around on the Krug Club night we could certainly try them side by side. But, as someone already discussed, we could simply pour it like an American pour out of the Lukr for the same result (which is why having a Lukr is useless, unless you use it as designed).

Ideally a pour from a Lukr faucet is performed by submerging the faucet in the glass (mug) for a bottom pour to create a wet foam.

One of the other distinguishing features of the Lukr faucet is the microscreen within the faucet to create more nucleation points (i.e., dense foam). Wouldn't this create a differing pour even if the faucet is not submerged vs. a standard tap faucet pour?

No. When the ball valve is completely open there is no restriction of flow, so no foam is created. The liquid passes through the screen without CO2 breaking out of solution. The screen only takes the foam and makes it uniform. If the screens created foam you'd be pouring Mlikos only.

Feel like I haven’t heard someone bring up nucleation in quite some time. I remember when Sam was putting out the perfect pint glass and the laser etched nucleation site was supposed to be ground breaking ha.

I want to say the Duvel glass had it way before the Perfect Pint.

Save some Pitch Lined Pils for me on Friday!!! Don't think I can get down there until about 4ish.

This Friday at 3pm, we'll be tapping gravity casks of Pitch Lined Pils (Kvasnicové version) at both the Salem & Brighton Tap Rooms. This has been a long time coming, and we will only have one cask per location. We hope you can make it!
On Sunday, June 12, from 12pm - 5pm, we'll be hosting our annual Polish Fest at Notch Salem. This event is exclusive to our Salem Tap Room & Biergarten

Hopefully they only pour half liters. I remember seeing people get full liters the last time I was there for a gravity cask and thinking it was rude. Special release stuff, share the wealth, think of your fellow beer nerd.

I expect updates on how the keg is doing from @MattOC

I kind of doubt it’ll last more than an hour, especially given the weather.

I plan to be there, but that’s usually the tail end of my visits. I’ll likely wrap up by the bar for it so I’ll provide an update if it seems busy.

Guess I need to take a late lunch and hop on the 86 bus to get over to Brighton right at 3 to make sure I get to try it.

I can get there by about 4 pm. If anyone gets a liter I'm no longer beer friends with that person.
