Today is Norway's national day. I am 100% Norwegian. I don't know anyone else approximately my age who can claim that who is not related to me. And they are all in Minnesota and do not drink much. There are celebrations in Wisconsin for this holiday, but they all happened last weekend. Most Norwegian-Americans I know are likely looking forward to a slice of lefse, a cup of coffee, and taking a nap today. So I will enjoy my annual celebration that essentially feels like being the only Irish person outside of Ireland on St. Patrick's Day. For me, today is always a day to never remember! Join me, BA! Please rise for Norway's new national anthem!

My annual tradition on this day is to watch Until the Light Takes Us. I started it, but have to go outside again soon. Freyr made it a beautiful day!

My wife and I were in Michigan for a few days to visit her son and her parents. It was a good visit. My mother-in-law asked me what kind of beer to buy for me and I told her any Michigan beer would be great. So she went out and bought a 4pack of KBS, and told me I was her favorite son-in-law. Now, the bar is pretty low in that category, but I still appreciated the effort she put out.
We got home yesterday afternoon, exhausted, but today we're rested and ready to go.
This is a nice IPA

My wife mentioned that her mother said the same thing about me being her favorite son-in-law.... It took me a few seconds then realized she only has an older brother and no sisters so, I'm all the MIL has when it comes to SINs. Sheéeesh

Damn, I just came home an forgotten all about it. Next year I'll make sure I have a Norwegian beer on this important day. And bring out my flag ofcourse. I'm genetically a Norwegian, my ancestors moved south ages ago
Haand makes some great beers indeed. Outside Norway I find Haand in Amsterdam sometimes.

At Mr. Brews in De Pere, WI. What a flight! It is only about $50 for a pint of beer and a basic hamburger and fries. Here are some of my favorite breweries. Toppling Goliath Toppling Waters, Eagle Park DDH Grand Master, New Holland Dragon's Milk Reserve Stroopwafel, and BlackStack Local 755. The Toppling Goliath Toppling Waters is a mere $32 for 10 ounces, and tastes like someone poured an entire bottle of maple syrup into a pint of Guiness. The Central Waters version of Toppling Waters is half the price, has a much higher ABV, and tastes approximately 100% more delicious.

 

Off work and in Charlotte for a few days. Have to stop at Brawley's Beverage for some outside drinking, enjoying the weather been and...
