Let’s see.. when I said something about the packages in this thread for Ambiente last year, Cory jumped in and decided to make it a single bottle purchase only..

so.. Cory.. what do ya think? Can we get a single bottle on achromatic? Pretty please?

I've had this conversation with Cory. From what I remember*

Some of the Sp/shared recipes do, and some do not. I'm think vibes base does. Not sure other bases specifically. The BA stouts are many different bases blended usually. So it's never the same or a very quantifiable amount because of the blending process. Safe to assume any/all have at least a small amount and usually not a large amount. A straight up vibes non ba beer may be different though.

 

This is great news. Enjoyed the last one. If it is a package, I’m probably only in for a penny. If no package, I’m likely in for a pound****.



****….that’s like 2 or maybe 3 bottles, because they are going to be $50 each. What a tasty beer though.

For the STL folks.. how have y’all not cleared out the bbt 18 bottles and DB bourbon genny yet??

 

was definitely wondering how BBT20 got wiped out before BBT18

 

I'm curious how a CdC that is essentially a fruited Oude Fermier is less expensive than a typical bottle of OF. $40 compared to $50+. It that because OF is aged longer, or just more for the unadulterated, fruitless version?

 

I gave up trying to understand price point anymore. They don’t make sense and there is no reason or logic.

 

I’d assume that the most perfect threads are saved for the unadulterated blend, and thus the ones that have fruit added to them for this CdC are “less valuable” (ie “not honey barrels” in whiskey parlance), justifying the lower price point.

Old crow used to have “off” pappy barrels blended in, per Julian. *shrug*

 

They told me yesterday they pulled what was left of BBT20 to save for another drop

 

guessing this isn’t quite as “pure” of an expression of OF if they’re willing to add fruit to it.

 

i wondered if that wasn’t the case or they allocated less of it thinking they could sit on that well.

2018 has to be a shell of itself. i had it around Thanksgiving 2020 along with BBT19, BBT20 and Rye BBT and it was my least favorite of the group by far. was already falling apart then can’t imagine now.
