Spent the better part of 2 hours watching Goodfellas( RIP Ray) and drinking beer while packing a box. Went through many layouts to get it right, took all beers out after spending 15 min 'getting it right' just to do it all over 3 or 4 times to get rid of an awful lump in the middle that didnt look right to me. Finally, the packing demons come to rescue me and the box is sealed. I can't believe i did it. The box defied all logic, physics, volume laws . Spit into the face of any law regarding it..Kicks Law , Bonds Law and Rittingers Law all here in this box! Then i turn around and see i had forgotten to pack a bomber bottle thats staring me dead in the face laughing at me. Fuck !!!!!
Yeah, it sucks when this happens. I recently put the wrong bottle in a box I was sending out to a long time trade partner. Realized it after packing, taping and putting the label on. I was pissed.
I threw my box away Did you reuse the box? I take every precaution i can when shipping( i was taught hiw to trade and pack by a stand up guy ; honestly, thank you ,Kev) so i turned the box into filler for the next one. I felt like a rookie , which to some i am sure i am. It sucked ass
Sooo Happened again today. Got home after a day of celebration and decided to pack a large flat rate and this emerged from under my mountain of packing material
Packed two boxes up late last week (flat rate) and was told by the post man that they were “outside of dimensions”. They were bulbous and some seams were stretched but this is the first time I’ve been told this. Had to go home and repack a large and a medium into two larges.
Two rules that I always follow with packing bottles, more stuffing (e.g. paper / bubble wrap) and more tape is always better then less. I started going so far as putting the entire contents in a trash bag on larger shipments.
