Philly Beer Week supposedly starts in two days but I don't see any events posted on phillytapfinder.com or phillylovesbeer.com (formerly phillybeerweek.com). I used to use these sites to plan out which events to go to. Anyone know if there's anywhere else I can see a compiled list of events without having to comb through every bar's website, facebook, instagram, etc?
Here is a list of 10 events: https://www.visitphilly.com/things-to-do/events/philly-beer-week/ Cheers!
Remember when you'd have a few weeks to map out each day during beer week with a comprehensive website listing everything? Here it is 2 days away and it's crickets on the official site. PBW lost its luster a few years back when it changed hands as far who was in charge and also because Philly gets so much more distributed here now that there is no more must hit events.
PBW was awesome back in the day, but I agree, it's a mere shadow of what it once was. I agree with Rich above, once distribution reaaaaaallly increased in this area, there weren't as many hyped up events. Opening Tap used to be a blast, tho, along with the pre-fest event at Strangeloves (and the former Farmers Cab owners' spot that was here before Strangeloves).
The complaints about PBW's lack of organization (and overall less luster) are completely warranted and glaring, but... maybe this thread could help point out some good stuff people see around the area? I'm away this weekend but am hoping to find a few good events next week. For instance: tonight, at Memphis Tap, there's a pretty cool pre-PBW celebration tapping Finback, Bierstadt, and Seed (recommended if you haven't had anything from them).
