That's kind of our problem here in Texas. It's so hot most of the year when we barely start seeing any winter weather we'll be out in full winter get up.

At the pub drinking Aslin’s Volcano Sauce sour with blueberries and blackberries:



Red/purple hazy body; pinkish white foam; poor cap retention; solid ring; a few spots of lace. Blueberries nose. Light tart blueberries and blueberries; vanilla in the finish. Creamy lactose feel; moderate minus carbonation; medium full body; light acidity. Overall,very mild tart fruit; berrylicious.

Starting with a new to me beer at The Beer Temple.

Art History Bauhaus



Beer Temple Notes: 5.2% ABV, $7 16 oz draft into Pilsner glass. German Style Pilsner.

Appearance: Crystal clear light golden base, light carbonation, bright white head leaves soapy lacing throughout. 4.25

Aroma: Nice bread cracker aroma, backed by salt and pepper, Nobel hops shining well. 4.5

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, started light but became bolder once I was beyond a few sips. Pretty salty, though I’ve become very sensitive to salt in Pilsners the past year. 3.75

Mouthfeel: Light, dry, don’t feel the carbonation, slightly bitter overall. Bold Pilsner taste, light airy perfect summer drinking. 4.25

Overall: Very nice Pilsner, a little too salty for me but others shouldn’t have an issue. Finishing it relatively quickly with my water side car. Recommend. 4.0

Beer Temple Notes: 16 oz cask pour, Golden Pub Ale 4.7% ABV.

Appearance: Clear yellow golden pour, bright white head leaves generous lacing. 4.25

Aroma: Tobacco, leather, pine and citrus from the hops, liking this. 3.75

Taste: Consistent with aroma but bolder, strong for a cask pour. Pine and citrus lead, get the nicotine tobacco and leather I typically get from this style. All comes together well, liking the hops depth. 4.5

Mouthfeel: Mild medium body, slightly sweet overall, easy light drinking. 4.25

Overall: This is a solid cask offering, bold flavor, easy light drinking, liking the depth of this cask offering. Well done Roaring Table, hope to come across more from this brewery. 4.25

Otis Redding - Cigarettes and Coffee

 

Good afternoon BA's! Been a warm one most of the day but the clouds and thunder have just started so some relief hopefully from the 80's day here in Western NC.
Turning back to my Bigfoot legacy pack, and enjoying a 2016, which has a nice balance between the hops and malt base. Seems less hoppy than the 2014 version if you can believe that. This one was voted as the favorite by my tasting group back in February and i can taste why!
Caught Stevie Wonder's Superstition earlier which always takes me back to when i was a little kid enjoying this tune.
