just saw this, and the clear answer is to have a preview series where a certain member of our community solo-dooms a crowler and then interviews himself about the tasting notes.

And for the theme music they have to have Kenny Loggins singing “Highway to the Solo Dome”

Code Switch tasting great 4 years later!

That beer may be Marty's masterpiece; taking a bad situation (bad barrels starting to infect the beer, if I remember correctly) and adjusting to create a fantastic beer anyway.

Or interpreted by the saxophone guy they hired that one release.

IIRC, it was the JD barrels Sun King was adamant about using that Rev did not want to use due to previous issues with JD barrels. Then they leaked really bad as warned, ultimately switching barrels.

Oh lawd no, no infection just leaky Jack Daniels barrels that weren’t going to make it the duration of the aging, so unexpectedly double-barreled it. If anything ever “started to infect” down the drain it would go. We’re on an epic run of never having to do that thankfully [knock on…wood?].

If I'm picking a Rev masterpiece it has to be Mineshaft Gap.

Been a little while since I've had one too, but I cannot imagine it has fallen off.

Depends how you define falling off. It’s not as good as fresh, so it’s on down the hill. Still delicious, but I wish I hadn’t saved the 2 I had for this long. Should have already consumed them. Whoops. But still going to savor them.

Nice I don’t follow rev on Twitter not sure of any other social media sites out there. I opted against the half an hour out of my way journey though.

Many beers don’t turn out they way they were intended. Doesn’t mean that corners were cut.

I don’t think it merits a discount, but I also don’t think it even merits being sold along side the other deep wood offerings. I think it actively sullys the name.

It was a really mediocre beer, and if I wasn’t familiar with Rev and had drank this beer as my intro to to them, I would be really disappointed.

I’ve been to a number of breweries and have never given them a second look because i based my assumption and 2 beers I had on draft while I was rolling through town.

If the next currants release is anything like the VO deth by currants on draft right now, I don’t think people will be disappointed with it at all, jammy, delightful beer.

VSO Lynontts is also on, and this just gets more delicious every time I have it.
