Catch up from yesterday.

Was at Southern Yankee yesterday. First up was Paramount Pils



And a Flex Squad Quad. With grilled shrimp and linguine, which was awesome.



Hit Southern Yankee before heading over to the Houston Museum of Arts to catch a movie, as they brought back their Summer Jazz Film Series. Seeing the movie Passing Through from 1977. This is an odd one, as its kind of boarders on being a "blaxploitation" movie. Though it is better directed than that, and the jazz sequences are ridiculously good. There is not much information or even trailers on the movie available. The director has completely avoided putting it on streaming in any form, it doesn't even have a physical release (I seem to remember seeing this once on TCM when I was a kid, but can't remember now, maybe I was thinking of something else, I grew up on TCM ha). His daughter was at the screening, and gave a little talk before hand.

Here is a cool little retrospective on the movie though.


The Houston Arts Museum is great as well. The rainbow hallway going to the theater (I believe its for Pride Month, could be wrong).

The hot and toasty week gets underway here - put 2 window a/c units in this morning in preparation for the heat and humidity....
