    Good day all!

    Still in Normandy as of this midday, and opening a Kekette Triple Charge hence a local brew at 8,5% in the hotel room overlooking a tiny garden.

    It’s good, we were supposed to be back home last Sunday but the weather forecast was very much optimistic and it’s turning out to be sunny and near hot for some more days.

    Evening @Shanex! I'm very jealous of any warm weather as we remain in the grips of an unusually cold and shitty winter Downunder, and we're only a few weeks in. There are just six months 'til summer returns, not that I'm counting.

    Tonight's beer is Southern Ocean Ale from Middle Island Brewing in Warrnambool, about 2.5 hours west of here. Some lovely tropical, pineapple vibes in a pretty, pineapple-coloured beer. Very enjoyable!

    Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting today's thread - glad your weather is warm! And @AzfromOz good to see you so early in the week - sorry to hear about your cold winter - we're in the summer monsoon so it rains at least daily and only gets into the 80s - my bitter melons have sprouted and hopefully two dry days will allow me to plant them - another year in which I should have planted rice!

    I'm very disappointed! The flavors and aromas are weak to the point of bordering on absent (when compared to other RISs) - the best aspect is the palate - otherwise a very average RIS - Rating (IMHO) 3.38, rDev -20.1%. Sorry Hoppin' Frog!

    Westmalle Triple now. Much heavier ABV wise and considering the heat could very much knock me out for a bit. The good news is I’m no longer driving today but might enjoy the hotel pool after that one. Drinking and swimming is cool.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

    Opaque dark brown body topped with a thick, fluffy, light khaki colored head; sticky fingers and patches of foam cling to the glass. Mild aroma; sweet; cocoa and chocolate. Big sweet taste; brown sugar and vanilla; moderate coffee undertone; boozy and bitter. Heavy body; light coarseness; thick and slick; a bit hot underneath the sweetness.

    This is a fair imperial coffee stout but a bit too sweet with a biting alcohol hotness. The coffee makes its presence felt somewhat in the taste but gets lost in the pastry-like cloying qualities of the beer. The aroma is pretty muted, too. A pastry stout with coffee that, in essence, is a drinkable mess.

    It's already nearing 90 F and gross outside, so no porch drinking today as we are expected to be warmer than Vegas today.(97 F 72% Humidity but dropping vs. 95 F 9% Humidity). Don't know how you handle this on a regular basis, @DoctorZombies .

    Thank you @DrOfGolf for your BD wishes for my Oldest Niece yesterday! It's my next Niece's Birthday today (18th), their youngest sat in the womb an extra five days (20th instead of June 15th) to break up the back to back to back sequence.

    Two generations at this point, as my siblings and I, and the first four next generation births were also born in May or June. The youngest of all (February) is the lone one of the eight born outside of a six week window.
