Woo hoo! It's Friday and I have a week and a half off work!

Heading to Cairns in far north Queensland on Monday for a week of dodging sharks, crocodiles and lethal jellyfish, all gladly traded for a week away from this shitty winter weather.

Tonight's beer is Zombie Dust from 3 Floyd's, courtesy of an international trade from @TurkeysDrinkBeer, and what an awesome beer it is. Big bitter notes with citrus, pineapple, caramel malts and a massive, chewy mouthfeel. They don't make pale ales like this anymore, and we're the poorer for it.

    Cheers!

Glad to see this one being enjoyed so far from its home! Such a classic brew and one that every beer fan should try atleast once!

Enjoy your week of warmer weather and cheers to Friday and the upcoming weekend!

    Good day to all Advocates,
in this moment of pause, I put here the beer I drank last night, with the notes taken at the moment.
Mad Scientist (Budapest, HUN) - JAM 52 - American Pale Ale (5.2%)
    44 cl can (€ 5.50)
On the label: "BEST BEFORE: 14/10/2022".
Poured is charged amber, tending towards orange.
Abundant foam, which quickly thins in thickness as the beer rises. However, it remains to act as a fluffy hat on top of the beer without ever disappearing completely.
On the nose, fruity notes (grapefruit, pineapple) but not too intense.
In the mouth beer of a fuller density greater than what I would have expected.
Entrance characterized by the fruit of new grapefruit, citrus peel, a quick hint more "exotic" (peach, papaya), before the emergence of a hint of malts, abundantly soft (tending to sweet) and a dry, bitter finish light that leaves ample room for the sweeter notes that remain in the palate.
The more it is held in the mouth, the more the malty component stands out, giving an almost caramel / honey sense that emerges between a quick initial fruity taste and a bitterish finish.
I have to say that I drank some very nice beers from this brewery, but this American Pale Ale doesn't seem to me the best example of balance, for my personal tastes.
Drinkable beer, not unforgettable, but honestly I would have expected more ... Starting from the density of the liquid ... I would have thought (and preferred) something lighter and more drinkable, also in agreement with the low alcohol content.

    PS.
@Ozzylizard ,I'm waiting for you and your brother with open arms, come and drink our beers, the typical ones (the spontaneous fermentations in Loverbeer wood, our I.G.A. - they call them Grape Ale, but everyone knows the typicality of the origin, our Farmhouse 110% agricultural ...), we are a young school, but we also have our excellences.

    @The_Kriek_Freak,
    It's hard.
    Weird arbitrage.
But we're still alive (3-2 for them), but you already know this.

Happy Friday, virtual bar denizens! Work from home day for me, so I’m having something special. This is my first Bottle Logic BA stout, and I can see how these guys have the reputation they do. Two sips and I’m blown away. I was shocked when I saw this at a local store. Nearly got a newer one from them yesterday on Tavour, but it sold out in about three minutes. Cheers!

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting today's thread - enjoy your holiday in the sunny North! Sleep tight and don't let the crocs bite! @Jack_14 - my brother is currently pursuing Italian as a second citizenship with a possible goal to retire from his retirement job to Italy - I'm not since being a citizen of one country (Murica) is puzzling enough. Enjoyed your review! Haven't had ZD in a while, may need to revisit it.

Starting off as a sunny day - will probably rain or snow later - anything to keep me out of the yard - although my bitter melons are up and ready to transplant. What I need is three dry days in a row so I can walk on the garden without sinking to my knees. Anyway, today's New Breakfast Beer is surprisingly good:

Cherry's weak but the citrus from the lime is strong and definitely carries the brew. Synergistic brew, much better than the sum of its parts! Rating 3.85, rDev +4.1%

    Happy Friday BA's

Cooler windy and less humid weather today and in store this weekend, thank goodness! Got in our usual morning hike earlier and then a canoe paddle with Miss Emma - think I may try some sailing later, although it will be a bitch getting my Hobie cat back to her dock with these NW winds gusting over 20 knots.....we'll see!
