I have a relatively stupid question, I know that dogs aren’t allowed in the beer garden, are they allowed in the tap room (Brighton)?

I’d say no. If they aren’t allowed in an outdoor area, not sure why they’d be allowed in an indoor area.

I’ve never seen a dog inside in all of my visits.

Only service dogs are allowed in the biergarten (Brighton).

Quite surprised it’s the “slowest selling of all time.” That seems crazy. I really enjoyed the Brit IPA. Extremely well done and delicious. I said at the time that it was released and I had it on my visit that I could easily have more than one in a sitting - not just because of the low ABV - but great flavor and really clean, made it easy drinking. I can’t say the same for many New England IPAs and being able to have more than one in a sitting.

Not allowed. It's a City of Boston rule, not a Notch one though

Agreed. Had a half liter when it came out.

Had another liter last Sunday (the Sunday before Father's Day). I'm doing my part!

It's funny, my wife is a bit of a "haze bro" and she loves that beer!

I'm a fan of Notch's beers, they're great, but Chris has been on a run the last couple of days his on Twitter / Instagram that doesn't really put him and by extension the brewery in the best light.

Between that tweet and then calling out brewers for not using the exact correct glass for British beers vs. Czech beers it just comes off elitist. I know it's his personal social media accounts and not the brewery's official ones, but I'm just saying...

Big fan of the British IPA, though it has been a disappointing start to the summer months in terms of being able to go to Notch often so who knows how many more pours of it I’ll get. In general, it seems the ones I tend to love most tend to last the longest, which I can’t really complain about.

What’s wrong with that tweet? Poking fun at himself and the current state of the beer market? I mean, I was there over the weekend and one of the girls in line behind me said to her friend “do you know which one is the sour?”. If you’re a traditional, to-style brewer, you have to be able to point out the absurdity of the beer scene.

And if you follow drama across the beer industry, Chris criticizing mug dimples is like 100 out of a list of 100 issues.

I have listened to a few podcasts and it seems to me that Chris is an ultra-traditionalist.

Maybe he is like Anakin (the ‘good’ Anakin)? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I went on his Twitter and IG last night but couldn't find these. I must have looked at the wrong accounts?

Not Notch accounts. Chris’ personal. You wouldn't find the IG stuff since it was in “Stories” and disappears after 24 hours I think. Unless of course it gets screenshot. Tweet about Brit IPA is still there. You can see his handle from my screenshot of the tweet from my original post above.

    Ah gotcha, thanks.

I did go on his personal accounts, but regarding Twitter, I needed to click on "Tweets and Replies" to see it, not the "Tweets" tab.

I can see both sides of this, but at the very least, the British mug doesn't have the distinct ridge near the top so the bar tender knows where to fill to. Above that line is a very large portion of glass space to allow for that beautiful large wet foam head from the Lukr.

Chris was alluding to an old post/article from Kevin Kain, who references Notch via Liz Olive

Not All Dimple Mugs are Created Equal

…Liz put’s the sentiment nicely (more completely) in a later GBH article:

    @Jcorn

Stichfaß/Stichfass/Faß…is a gravity keg, which is naturally carbed vs pressurized. Thus, gravity-fed (e.g. softer carbonation/feel)
