Not sure if anyone's heard of them or been there, but in a word I'd describe my experience as impressed after I finally got a chance to check it out this past Friday. Although the number of taps isn't large, the quality of their beer and guest taps is quite nice, as is how friendly the owner/bartender is with the patrons. He brews very small batches, and you can tell that in the quality of Take Two, Action! NE IPA. https://www.stuntbrewing.com/ ... on Waukegan, about a half mile north of Lake. Taps currently, all between $4-$8 for pours: Stunt - Take Two, Action! - New England Style IPA with Citra Hops. 7% abv Stunt - Mango Smooey - Smoothie Style Fruit Ale. Prepare to be mesmerized by Mango. 4% abv Mikerphone - Flux Capacitor - Berliner Weisse with Passionfruit and Tangerine. 5.25% abv Humber Forager x Horus - Fishing With Horus - Imperial Coffee Stout with roasted hazelnuts, toasted coconut, maple syrup, and mostra coffee. 13% abv Revolution - Straight Jacket - Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine. 15% abv Other Half - Tremendous Creme - Triple Oat Cream IPA with Mosaic, Citra, &Idaho 7 Hops. 10% abv Modern Times - Dungeon Map - West Coast IPA. 7.2% ABV 12oz cans More - Clamp and Gasket - Double Dry Hopped IPA with Amarillo, Citra, Strata & Idaho & Hops. 7% abv More - Coral Riff - Smoothie Style Fruit Ale with Pink Guaval. 6.2% abv Local Option - Outlawger - Perfect Deustch Pilsner. 5.5% abv In the North burbs, where it's a relative brewery dead-zone, it's nice to see someone like this start up. I'm just giving them a shout out in hopes that others will stop bye and give them a try.
Haha, yeah, it's really tough to actually even see. It's right in the corner. I didn't even know it existed until my wife made a comment a couple of weeks ago. She asked if I had heard of Stunt Brewing, and my response was 'who?'. I checked them 'on the line' and saw a very interesting tap list so a buddy of mine and I decided to give them a go. It's not very big, but it's very nice. They had some impressive taps in the past too apparently, like Angry Chair and such. I'm not sure how this brewer gets those kegs but hopefully he keeps it coming!
Sound like they're right around the corner from Macushla Brewing, https://www.macushlabeer.com/welcome Wow, a mini pub crawl in Glenview. Who da thunk it!
My wife reminded me of Ten-Ninety Brewing, https://www.ten-ninety.com/ Is 3 enough breweries for an official Glenview Pub Crawl?
Those are some very long crawls, from Ten Ninety to Yardhouse. But last Friday we did start of at Macushla's, which has a great outdoor area and is right next door to Hackney's, before heading to Stunt. T'was a mini crawl!
Was at Stunt yesterday for work happy hour. Few new taps. Their Wave Change is the hazy IPA. I preferred Take Two, Action! they had on last month but it's nice that the Wave Change isn't overly sweet. Bit drying too at the end. Guest taps added are: Weldwerks - Apricot & White Peach Cobbler - Sour ale w/ apricot, white peach, milk sugar, vanilla and graham crackers - 6.2% The Veil - Doom Volume (cubed) - Triple dry hopped IPA w/Citra, Strata, Galaxy and Citra Incognito Hops - 6%
Sadly, this brewery is closed. The brewer's lease at the location had run out and there just simply wasn't enough traffic, even though this place was very fun. Solids brews and guest taps whenever I was able to go. Head brewer was also a very nice guy. Definitely a bummer.
