A proper pint to follow up a visit to the castle along with a sturdy chicken and mushroom soup with brown bread.

Good day BAs! Off to another pleasant start to the day. Yesterday Mrs. Lizard and I went walkies through our town's main park and ended up having lunch at a local brewpub - decent food, mediocre draft beer - neither reviewed on BA yet. They've only been in business about 3 years so they're still messing around with their system. However, today's New Breakfast Beer has been around for a while:

Really think this is over-rated and should be made with black walnuts rather than the milder English walnuts - oh wait - it IS made with fruit from Juglans nigra! Hard to tell from the mild taste. Rating 3.6, rDev -15.9%.

At Cantillon with my 16 year old daughter and we BOTH ordered a Kriek. Her first beer! Starting on the right foot!

Good day and thanks @Ozzylizard for getting us started. @Beersnake1, congrats to your daughter for her first sip on a beer, and considering the place you guys have chosen she could have had a far worse one than this.

    Another Leffe Brune, brown ale:

    Yep - mornin'!
Time to get after it again after a day completely off. Last week was my first 70 (!) mile week and really needed to rest yesterday. Still a little stuff in the gams from Leadville camp but what fun...
see you on the flipside of this.

    Cheers
    !

You’re one of the few New Mexico poster in this thread so I’ll ask not so randomly if you have watched and enjoyed Better Call Saul new season?

I certainly do, it’s been consistent for a number of years and keep me interested throughout.

This beer is out of a 12-pack of 3x4 flavors from Aldi. It's OK to pretty good and inexpensive.
Link Wray is an amazing story. A founding father of rock and roll and this tune is from the 50's. Credited with introducing "the power chord". The documentary is excellent.

Thanks, man! The variety of new beer is amazing! Looks like the running is going great for you! Running in Bruges was fantastic (got a couple of 10+ mile runs in), but Brussels not so much. Got 10 miles this morning, but a lot of it was through city with tons of road crossings. France should be great - heading there tomorrow!
