    Hi!
We have had a quite warm period now, for these latitudes. Wouldn't had believed it, but have mostly turned to plain water. You want to drink "light", but isn't water pushing it ? l assume nobody else has experienced this, but please tell...

    Heck no!
Warm weather is made for drinking beer. Cookouts, fishing, boating, swimming, bon fires....... Etc.
I drink more lighter beers in the warm weather.
Cooler weather equates to less but much stronger beers for me.
Although nothing is stopping me from drinking my high octane Spring Bock on a hot sunny day.
Summer time is perfect for Belgian strong golden ales, Saisons, Wheat beers of all types, Lagers, Commons and especially Steam beer!
During the summer heat, it's a good idea to drink a glass of water in-between beers to avoid dehydration.
Seriously, who can man the grill without beer in hand?
This is making me thirsty, I'm going to get a beer.

My volume consumed doesn't change with the weather. I think.

I don't know if it's the heat that slows me down as much as the heavy humidity -- and yeah, I cut back and drink lighter in body and alcohol.

Hot weather changes my consumption habits.

Hot and humid weather means more sweat loss during exercise, disc golf, etc. etc.. That extra day-to-day sweat loss can be an absolute chore to keep up with in general, but compounds to a whole different level when frequently consuming alcohol. I still love beer during a cook out, while sitting at the pool, or maybe for a round of disc golf, but in general - I consume less during the hot months.

I suspect I drink more beer in the summer vs. the other seasons but I have not carefully tracked it so…

What I do for hot weather drinking is to drink more beer styles which have a ‘drinkability’ aspect to them. Some examples:

    · Hefeweizen

    · Kolsch

    · Pilsners (German Pilsners, Bohemian Pilsners, Classic American Pilsners)

    · Witbier

    · Saison

And yes, even the beer style which some BAs ‘piss on’, the AAL beer style.

My recent purchase of a 12-pack of Yuengling Lord Chesterfield is almost gone. :slight_frown:

    Cheers to summer drinking!

I drink water throughout the day and on days I want a beer or two, will do so in the early evening. I'm old school and think adjunct lagers are perfect for hot weather.

    The opposite.

But lighter stuff. More lager and saison and not stout or porter or high alcohol stuff.

So my general rule is to not drink any beer before I've had 120 oz of water. My goal is to hit that by 4pm, regardless of water. i don't think I've made it past 3 in the past 3 months.

I drink much more High Life when it’s hot out and overall more beer. It’s more get togethers, BBQ, vacation, lawn mowing, yard work and other outdoor events.

    Enjoy

More lagers. Less heavy stuff. (Sweet, thick, high abv).
Water is definitely not an option.

Definitely not drinking less. My consumption of Imperial Stouts and Triple IPAS might be slightly diminished, but my consumption of Pilsners and sesionable IPAS is on the uptick!

No. I tend to consume more beer in warmer months than in colder ones. More lagers and session ales.
