I know the great breweries near Target Field, but what can be found inside Target Field at a Twins game? Trying to decide between spending one night of a short Twin Cities trip at a game, or skipping it to just hit breweries.
Target Field has some decent options. There's a craft beer area just inside the right field gate that has 20-24 local craft beers on tap (largely core offerings or summer seasonals). Summit has 3-4 beers available at stands and in their left field bar area. There's also a Minnesota Beers area on the back wall of the main concourse behind home plate (slightly down the third base side) that has some local16 oz can options (again, largely core offerings and mainly IPAs). Based on my experience, Target Field is better than a lot of MLB stadiums for local craft options. If you're content with drinking core offerings at a beautiful ballpark, you'll be happy.
Unless you love baseball The Twins or the team The Twin are playing i would skip it (game) to "just hit breweries". Also where will you be staying (area)?
* Edit …If have never been to Target Field it is a beautiful spot to see a game on a summer day/night in that scenario i would go.
I'm there for a conference and staying near the convention center. I will have my car. I stop through the Twin Cities every Christmas with my family and don't usually have much time to hit breweries.
If you have not been to target field and like baseball ,you should go 4 sure a beautiful stadium/field fun time . If you looking for Taprooms /breweries then you have many options.
I’m moving to the Twin Cities tomorrow and going to a Twins game on the July 12th. Thanks for the info, Looking forward to checking out the area and the stadium
