Thanks for the views. Must look at the lagers and hefes. I'm afraid the fridge is very IPA-pronounced now, and also got a lot of stouts and porters when summer was more like below 20°C.

Yes, it is definitely time for you to 'rotate' your stock of beer styles.

The 'good news' is that Stouts and Porters hold up well over time so those beer should still be in OK shape to drink once Fall weather comes.

And FWIW I think that IPAs which feature citrus flavors are tasty summertime drinking beers (for my palate).

    Cheers!

No. I pretty much drink the same amount of beer all year round…In Florida, it’s hot all the time….summer is the worst so we try to go somewhere cooler for as long as we can! This summer we’re visiting Hawai’i. Cheers!

Generally yes. I don't find beer satisfying when it's scorching out, even considering that I'm usually drinking a helles, pils or other lower ABV lager from June through August. There's a sweet spot for me right around 92°F air temp and a dewpoint below 65°F. Generally when it gets over that around late May/early June I pull up big time even on the lighter stuff.

Our 70°F could be your 90°F . Came to think about this is a minor survival mode, and you necessarily don't want to drag the holy beer into it

You know, generally no air conditioning in homes here definitively changes the scale. Windows open during night, but still 24°C in the morning inside.

...not so much less beer but lighter beers pilsners, west coast IPAs, saisons and kölschs...still knocking out barrel-aged dark beers and imperial IPAs, but much less so...

And for you other lovers of Kolsch beer buy some beers now and remember to participate in the Online Tasting in about 2 weeks (July 15 - 17).

    Cheers to Kolsch!

Slightly less and slightly more "lighter" beers, but I still drink my strong ales, stouts, and barleywines during the summer.

I love beer in the summer! Pilsners, Lagers, Saisons, Wheat beers, sours etc. I definitely drink more in the summer.

For beer drinking, I prefer the warmer weather. I drink beer year-round, but warmer weather always felt a little more special.

I'm back! Had an Oettinger NA 500ml after taking a walk in the warmth. That lager styled beer really worked as you promised

Probably same for me and seasons don’t change my daily/weekly volume of consumption. 1-2 beers a day on average. Rarely none and rarely 3+. In the summer I need to do my desk day job but also need to take care of yard, garden and outdoor maintenance of my house so the time to relax in the evening and enjoy a beer is significantly compressed before going to bed during summer where in winter my evening relaxation time is expanded. More likely to have an afternoon beer on weekends during the summer than during winter.

I don't drink less, but I'm someone who absolutely does not find beer refreshing in any way, shape or form. In fact it makes me sweat. Even light beer, though not as much.

I drink the same amount. Not as many higher abv beers tho and I Probably drink more water in between beers. Definitely like to be in the AC when I'm enjoying a beer.

Not a fan of the summer heat and drinking beer outside. I prefer fall/winter weather. Blood sucking mosquitos and flys trying to get into my beer drive me up the fuckin wall.

I drink mostly water when it's hot & muggy. Mine just happens to be flavored with malt & hops.
So, my beer comsumption is pretty much the same. I even drink stouts this time of the year. :beers:

Geez, I feel like a real outlier here, but yes, less drinking in the summer for me. I eat way much less in the heat too. Bring on the cold! In mid-autumn I start stocking up on my cold-weather faves: Quads, Barleywines, Winter Warmers, Strong Darks, etc. There's nothing like a cold dark evening and a glass of something strong. By March those pounds lost in the summer somehow come creeping back. Must be the beer.
