If you look at the cage more closely, you’ll see that I’m actually the one on the inside and the rest of you are free.

So approachable and delicious! I bet a lot of us were also introduced to the style because of this one ale. (I'll also add in Samuel Smith's Imperial stout for myself.)

Solid review. Got this one from Tavour a couple years back. Gave it 4.0s across the board.

    K
Grabbed this same one today for 5 dollars. First one from Lupulin brewery.
Every sip leaves a weird artificial sugary chocolate syrup taste in my mouth and really can't taste much else because of it. Not cloying ,but damned close. After more sips i do get a little bit of coffee but that lingering flavor of chocolate syrup and vanilla is too much. I don't like this at all and may pour the rest down the drain. It tastes like cheap fudge

I hate that feeling of running low on great beer. I dont see that one anywhere out here and i checked their Beer Finder...nothing within 75 miles for both BA and Non BA Narwhal.

Man was that beer horrible. I thought i would try to finish my pour and thrownthe rest away...Couldn't finish my pour as it got worse and worse with every sip.

Drain pour and now my teeth hurt( that dry feeling after eating something sweet) .

    Mikeller - Beer Geek Brunch
    Canned 2/12/2021
    [IMG]

Pours like dark brown and settles black with light brown rim, there was no head that formed after an aggressive pour. Smells heavily of roasted cocoa, black malt and roasted coffee. That's what dominates the flavor as well. Big on coffee with a cocoa finish. Not sweet at all here. The finish on the palate is dark roast and dark chocolate . Can't detect a hint of the 10.9% ABV. I used to drink Beer Geek Breakfast a lot a few years ago, haven't had any Mikeller since. This isn't bad, but i would take Speedway over this anyday.

Some things just don't belong in four packs. If I was of a mind to buy four of these, I'd find it much easier to swallow if they were priced individually. Maybe it's just me.

2020 Black Albert from De Struise. Comes in at 13% ABV, and is made with only water, barley malt, wheat, hops, and yeast. Probably the best stout I have ever had. I have had vintages ranging from fresh to 10 years old, and they are all insanely good. This is THE stout.

If it’s not already, that’s going on my “wants” list. We get a smattering of Anchorage brewery here, but never their smoked Porter or stouts.

Troegs, “Impending Descent “. Bottle date is 2018. Very good but not great. Very upfront bourbon smell with an almost overpowering cocoa flavor. Nice bourbon flavor on the backend. Virtually no vanilla bean smell or flavor. Still an above average stout.
