Well, we have a date: Saturday, September 24.

Other minor details such as "this year's Zwanze blend" and "participating locations" are yet to be announced, so let the wild speculation begin!

They're about on the opposite side of the beer spectrum from imperial stouts. A good introduction is the Lindemann's Oude Geuze or Cuvee Rene (not the fruited stuff). They'll give you a basic idea what the style is about and are usually a little over $10 for a 750

They still haven't announced the official host locations for 2022.

However, I am stoked Zwanze Day is returning to Chicago for the first time since 2019 (Hopleaf). This year it will be hosted by The Beer Temple for the first time!

A man could live a worse life than geuze when the sun's up, imperial stout once it goes down

This is definitely the closest it's ever been to Zwanze Day before all the locations have been announced. Looking forward to attending at Holy Grale once again!

Now I need to get myself a bottle of Cuvee Rene Grand Cru to celebrate.
    I'm salivating reading about this.
I haven't had a Gueze since last Father's Day. It was the Fonteinen 3.
    Damn that sh#t was excellent!
    Expensive as the Dickens though.
The Rhubarb lambic sounds amazing to me.
Sadly, not many US breweries get it done as well as the Belgians do.
Goose Island made a few decent ones, but they were 30 bones a 750ml! I don't spend that much on wine.
Whatever the raspberry one was, Rachel, Sofie, Lucy, I forget was really good.
Too many people try and fail miserably trying to replicate the nuances that the Belgians create.
Most taste like vinegar added to a fruit beer. Not the same.
Pizza Boy Brewing Company has their own lambic on one of their their 99 taps. I see a road trip in the near future.

Look forward to it. Crooked Stave has been hosting it for while (10 years), although it has gotten much smaller and become less of a party recently. Still, I'll never miss it unless something serious keeps me from it.

Most years the Zwanze beer is a fun experiment that's worth trying once, but isn't on par with the normal Cantillon pours. Occasionally it's absolutely amazing, though. I loved 2014 and 2016. Sometimes (like with Nath and Mamouche), they can become a regular offering.

Love Beer Temple - might have to plan some time to get up there for it this year.

Have never made it to a Zwanze Day but fully intend to at least once in my lifetime.

Really excited for Zwanze again this year and hoping details are released soon. I attended Jester King's version last year and had a great time, even though the event itself wasn't the most well-organized.

Does anyone know if they've announced what the 2022 blend will be yet outside of the teaser they released?

Looks like I'm going to miss it again this year. I had to submit my work schedule for September, and I didn't have time to wait until the list of venues was released. The ones I attended ('18 and
'19) were at Schera's in Elkader, IA. They didn't host it last year, and according to their event schedule they aren't hosting it this year either. The nearest venue is 300 miles from here (give or take) so I would've had to pass anyway. For those of you who have a chance to attend, though, I highly recommend it.

Black pepper geuze sounds very intriguing. There's no official events near me, but there is a place that does an unofficial event every year. I don't know if he manages to get any of the zwanze beer though.

Either way, a good day to celebrate the glory of lambic
