We’re a little under 2 acres…that’s plenty! Any more, and it’d kill me for sure. I’m complaining a lot, but I know once it’s sloped better and the rocks and poison ivy and weeds are put under control, the yard will be much more enjoyable. Just so much bull work right now. Contractors give crazy expensive quotes, so fat old me prefers to put in the sweat equity as long as I can do it. Most days even after drinking about 1.5 gallons of water, I’m dropping 5-10 lbs of water weight. Good for salt clearance, but by night I’m wiped.

I miss the hell out of Hilo/the windward side every now and again. We took a trip to Kauai last summer but I've been trying to get back to the Big Island for a while.

Yeah thousands sacrificed their lives without a second though. In an "involvement" ...that may not have been necessary. Sure there was pushback and protests but many still sacrificed. We are just so "me, me, me" now. People gave theirs jobs up and changed their lives with world wars, Afghanistan,...etc.
I really can fkn appreciate that now when I see whats happening.

I drop that daily in the 110° kitchen. But I love working in my yard. The poison ivy and invasive vines have just multiplied incredible over the last few years. I have an old- prob like 100yr old ash that was beautiful and just got infected with that Emerald Beetle. I think it may be too late to save it. Its really bumming me out.

Bummer. I just felled an ash this week that was fine last year due to those pesky borers. Once they get behind the bark, it’s game over. Hopefully you can salvage the wood for something.

I’ve been hitting the ivy and more with a Dawn/vinegar/salt mix that works pretty well to burn out the leaves, choking out the plants and trees. I like that it doesn’t use chemicals that might affect the stuff we want to keep or the areas we want to plant. Plus, it makes the yard smell like salt and vinegar chips! Deer love the new flavor. LOL!

For sure. Powerful story. I saw them in concert probably in the late 90's. The Afters opened. Both bands were amazing.

Kauai is beautiful, but I’m grooving on how diverse the Big Island is…first time here and I’m learning a lot. Cheers!

    Notch is just killing Lagers.
Already the best beer Ive had so far this year was from them....this.[IMG]
Here we have a Polish Style Lager. Again triple decocted. Im not too familiar with the style or the hop but I have no doubt it fits the style from these people. The malt in that first beer was incredible, delicious if you can say that about malt... This is great and malty but on the light toasted side or pils. Its damn good. I mean Im loving this global tour of lagers that Notch is doing right now. Cutting edge and fearless plus a great fkn Idea! More should take notice- not just "session" beer....but it is really.[IMG]

Great album! I brought this song to my cover band years ago, and it became a club gig staple…one of the few songs the band “let” me sing…Cheers and thanks for the memories!
