I think that was Caan's first movie. To be in a movie with John Wayne and Robert Mitchum first time out is pretty impressive.

I saw a few episodes of a bad TV Drama James Caan was in, I think it was just called Las Vegas. He played a casino owner that had ties to the mob, he was far and away the only thing good about it. He was only in the first season or so, anyway, his characters alias name was Alan Badillion Trahern, that made up for the awfulness of the actual show ha.

I actually didn't know who he was until I started really getting into westerns and paying attention to the actors in older movies. Loved his role in El Dorado, then I figured out how many more movies he was in.

Oh yeah, I got most my movie edumacation from watching TCM and AMC in the early 90's with my parents and grandparents (back when AMC was completely commercial free like TCM). I love the old westerns, and black & white movies.

If I was to name my all time favorites they would be:
The Godfather (considering I and II the same movie ha)
The Searchers (John Wayne of coarse)
A Raisin in the Sun (Sidney Poitier's best movie IMO)
Hud (early Paul Newman movie, based on one of my favorite books)
To Kill A Mockingbird (Movie needs not comment, and one of my favorite books again)

    :sunglasses:

Bugs was eating me alive out there. Indoors with a Weihenstephaner Helles. Can is dated 8.25.2022. Always wonder what the lag time is between canning and "best by" on some of these imports. Tasting fine regardless. Cheers!

I purchased a beginners guitar and amp for my youngest 12yr. old today. Used to take piano lessons and was very good at it. Hasn’t touched the piano in two years since the pandemic and my wife being diagnosed with cancer. It was awesome to hear the piano from the upstairs today. The theme song from The Flintstones never sounded better and was working on the beginning of Lady Madonna. Starting guitar lessons next week. Cheers!

An Occasional Haze Pale Ale, on tap at the brewery. Good but can't say it's great. Winding Path/Wyndridge Farm is a really nice venue, though. We were outside on a beautiful Thursday evening. Great food.

That's great! Iv always been into westerns ever since I was a kid, my grandparents loved watching them to. My grandma would collect VHS tapes. I got really into them about 5 years ago, binge watching GRIT and then I started buying my favorites on DVD. Some of them are hard to find and can get expensive. I love the black n whites to.

    My tops are
    Outlaw Josey Wales
    4 For Texas
Stars In My Crown (Joel McCrea is awesome)
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Once Upon A Time In The West
    Cheyenne Social Club
    The Sheepman
    From Heaven with A Gun
    Cimarron (Glenn Fords)
    Tombstone
    Skin Game
    The War Wagon
    Fistful of Dollars
