We talk about that one go-to beer.
I thought about it and realized that
I have multiple go-tos as far as IPAs
    are concerned.

    They are:

    Hopfish
    VT IPA
    Lagunitas
    Hopnosis
    Finestkind

    Do you have multiple go-tos
    and what style are they?

For sure! I get in a "mood" for lack of a better term, for a certain brew and it just must be. Won't settle for anything but that one. The problem lies in the fact that there are so many! :grinning: Starting with the 8 (probably) most commonly seen in my hand. Cheers!
    Summit EPA, Triumphant Session IPA
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Bigfoot Barleywine
Bells Two Hearted Ale (esp on tap)
    Miller Lite
Castle Danger Cream Ale (always a challenge when this and Bells are on tap)
    Guinness Foreign Extra Stout
If I lived East of the Wabash River, Yuengling would make the list.

How is Finest Kind these days? Used to be a total favorite of mine before the whole buyout/takover thing. I have not had it in years.

My go-to beers anymore seem to change. I buy a lot of Cape May IPA in the summer, a lot of Tired Hands (Alien Church, HopHands etc.) in the winter and recently a lot of Other Half since they opened in Philly. With them it's hard to have a go-to since each time I go they have different beers. So maybe another great thread would be go-to breweries?

I’m guessing a majority of people who post in these forums have “multiple go-tos” rather than one.

Hell, some of us don’t have any go tos. I’m usually pretty well busy drinking new beers to buy old favorites. That’s not to say I never revisit beers but the majority of my drinking is dedicated to trying new things.

Well, since @19etz55 used the beer style of IPA in the OP I will discuss my IPA go-to: Fat Heads Head Hunter IPA. Whenever I see that beer fresh at my local Wegmans supermarket a six-pack ends up in my shopping cart.

Spoiler alert: I was recently gifted a can of Tired Hands Static Image which per the label is a West Coast IPA which I will be discussing in an upcoming NBW thread. I have had innumerable IPA brands from Tired Hand but those have all been of the Juicy/Hazy type. I am very intrigued to see how Tired Hands does a 'regular' IPA.

    Cheers!

P.S. I wonder whether I should conduct a side-by-side tasting of Head Hunter and Static Image!?!

I won't taint your opinion prior to you tasting it, but let's just say Tired Hands and the WCIPA don't always mix well. Now Hidden River on the other hand, all their WCIPAs have been awesome.

I still haven't any real go-to beer, I'm varying and exploring, revisiting, changing. But some tend to come back time after time, partly because I feel like being price conscious, and for example the "Belgian tradition" Lasso Zero lager is very much bang for the buck. But it may not be in my next haul anyway, maybe some others not so pricey good ones mixed in.

Since this is a go-to beer for you, what are your experiences with Jai Alai holding up with age?

A year+ ago I purchased a number of single cans of Jai Alai that were just a few weeks from the canning date. Those beers were in the grocery store's refrigerator and I immediately placed those beers in my home refrigerator. The first 1-2 cans which I drank within a week of the purchase date were very tasty. The 3-4 beers which I drank 2-3 weeks after the purchase date were notably different with greatly diminished hop aroma and a muted hop flavor. Almost like they were different beers altogether. Have you ever experienced anything like this?

    Cheers!

I really have no go-tos... I 90%+ buy new stuff by the 4pack/6er/restaurant draft/whatever. If I ever revisit anything old, its in a restaurant or a build-a-6 (where I sneak 4 19oz beers in with 2 old beers I will revisit). Just too much new beer.

Finestkind is still good. Has a little of that earthy grit to it still.

I haven’t drank Jai Alai in years but back in the day it was a staple for me. Back then it was notorious for rapidly falling off a cliff, was also notorious for substantial batch variation. This was pre-CCB sell out too so even during times when the production was MUCH lower.
