    Woke up after a few hours, body fighting resetting a normal sleep after last week. First time I am in the mood for a heavy beer this Summer, perhaps visions of the first Deep Woods release this Thursday have taken over the subconscious.

    Just over two years old, so I noted for how this is going 25 months after canning in the 2022 Cellar Review Thread. Bottom line, this has really held up well, the coffee taste a perfect dark bitter roast which hasn't missed a step. The only thing missing is my beloved Newport Menthols beyond a rare pack, a vice I gave up many moons ago to be able to join you here today.

    Now drinking an interesting barleywine. Collaboration between three breweries, including one local to Freiburg. This is a barleywine with smoked plumbs. Quite a bit of head! Tons of smoke coming through on the nose. Cheers!

    Amazing, a real beer? At this hour? Yes.
    A little Prost Kolsch action since I sadly missed the tasting this past weekend.

    Just got in a quick 7 miler with most of that at tempo'ish pace. Felt good, despite the heat and some decent relative humidity earlier. Steamy week all around, it seems. Hang in there @Beersnake1 - that Euroheatwave is something else. My parents are in 100+F temps the whole week in southern France. Woof.

    Today's courtesy shot is the Frisco, CO, marina from over the weekend. It was a great day.... (that's technically Lake Dillon (reservoir).

    Great shot! Yeah, it reached the high 90's when we were in southern France and it was quite miserable for a part of the day.

    Just got back inside after an hour outside. It's crazy ass muggy and it's only 11AM. Not hungry as a result, so just having one KOB and seeing if I'm hungry come evening.

    I really enjoy the travelogue that you are sharing with all of us. Thanks. The upshot of your journey, in my estimation, is a thorough debunking of the oft held view of a monolithic German beer culture. Beer is a world-wide and ongoing experiment. You are an ambassador.
