Made this vegan salad nicoise for lunch

 

Short day, had to burn 3 hours of vacation today or lose them. Made a stop at Sportsman's Warehouse for some 5.56 and a vibrating tumbler to clean the fired brass. Having a Blue Point Spectral Haze as I wait for the wife to get home so we can drink beer at Shucker's.....

Afternoon BA's! Another modestly warm day south of Asheville with temps in the low 80's.

Today's first choice is compliments of a trade with @Resistance88 , thanks Tomas! A Firestone Walker limited BA release. Whistle Monkee, is from the "Central Coast Quad" base beer Stickee Monkee which is already barrel-aged and this base beer is rested in Whistle Pig Rye barrels for a year. Yum-o's! This is an excelling spicy spin from the "base" beer!

I did this from scratch in 2 1/2 hours, plus add calamari for 80 and Caesar salad, in 113° heat. So now Im doing this....

 

I used to think that was one of the better Mexican Lagers.. probably sold out.

Had to take a grill break before rain begins.

A buddy of mine smokes his own homemade bacons as gifts, so I sliced some off and put it to use atop Angus ground chuck.

Apparently the issue with getting the Hippie Chick around here is the distributor. I talked with my trusted beer guy today who told me he couldn't get any because the distributor doesn't have any.

I don't know WTF is going on but he did say he should eventually get some. I mentioned that folks in Western MA can get it and he said it's a different distributor. Whatever, it is pissing me off
