The rain in Florida is crazy. On a trip to St. Petersburg, the wife and I stopped at Green Bench Brewing Company. It was sunny and dry at Green Bench, but cloudy and raining like hell across the street from the brewery.

I hope the Fall/Winter deep woods has some other offerings. This current lineup just isn’t that exciting to me. I’m hopeful to try that one, though.

I love chilies. I love beer. I love well-made chili beers. Is this one of them?

Yeah, it's pretty good. A touch sweet, but lovely chili flavor. Cheers!

Loving your pics, you’ve settled in quite nicely and found great beers to boot! Hope your there until it starts to cool off in Florida.

Thanks Eric! A little to warm to drink these type beers, but I wanted to see if I should buy more tomorrow in the wild (Rev sold out). I’ll save you a few different cans if your headed this way this Fall or Winter.

I thought so last year with the Thundertaker, but that also turned out to be a great beer. The only DW beers I’m hot or miss on are the fruited offerings, usually too sweet for me.

Sorry @LarryV about your distribution issues. Most states like Illinois have franchise laws where breweries can’t leave without a severely onerous escape payment. With the severe consolidation of distributors here, many great breweries have been intentionally benched, with only 1 or 2 skus brought in, and weak of any product placement, even if a retailer requests a sku and are willing to buy a pallet or more.

Thankfully Massachusetts reformed a portion of their laws. Hope they can find a better distributor willing to sell their product.

This law would likely never pass in Illinois.

Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Red Stripe (4.7%):
A Jamaican lager with flavors of light amber malts, some apple and earthy flavors, but still drinks as a lager. Butterscotch flavor evolves to complement.

    2) Leinenkugal’s Drink Wisconsibly (4.9%): An adjunct amber from Wisconsin with flavors of cereal malts, light amber malts, and a grainy and yeasty finish.

    3) Dos Equis (4.2%): A Mexican lager with flavors of bread spice, yeast, and a light cereal malt finish. Balanced.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winner:

    1) Red Stripe: A pleasant surprise. I've had it before but never thought twice about it and only heard negative reviews. Dos Equis is usually my preferred lager from down south, but I think this one has a decent and unique flavor profile. A little amber and apples note followed by some butterscotch. All three were good lagers in that they were drinkable, yet flavorful. I'll have to pick this one up again soon to see how it stands up to the test of time.
