    Well if no-one else is going to start this thread I guess I'd better!

    Friday night's beer comes to you from Germany, which is in the grip of a record-breaking summer heatwave. Here in Australia, I've shivered my way through an extra cold snap of weather that has seen nighttime temperatures drop to zero. Personally, I'd take 38 degrees celsius (100F) over zero any day of the week but I get that not everyone will like that. Unlike this beer. Everyone should like it!

    Still dark out, but swilling this NA UA Chocomalt before heading out early to the trails in Mueller State Park at 9k feet+ this morning. I'll see you all later today, for sure.

    A little collab here

    Amber ale brewed with brown sugar. Cinnamon and vanilla.

    Balanced like everything we do. The base beer is great without the additions. Then the additions compliment it. Not overly sweet. Touch of cinnamon. Brown sugar adds well to the amber Ales caramel characters. Enough bite from the base beer to cut through vanilla. One and done but paired very well with BBQ I'll say surprisingly.

    My guess would be that it paired well because of the brown sugar, since it's usually a mainstay in BBQ sauces and rubs. Just my two cents worth. :beer:

    I'm enjoying a Birburger Premium Pils. It's got good cracker/dough malts and light hops bitterness. I rated it 3.97, way above its BA average of 3.48. But what do I know, it's a baking hot day in the Philly burbs and this one is really hitting the spot.
