I'm installing a 6 foot metal dog run off the back slider this weekend... if this happens again... I won't be sending anyone to find them...

My wife and I were downtown last night for a concert so we went over to Trade Winds Tavern, which used to be No Anchor. Same ownership group, but they've converted it into a 70's-styled midwestern tavern with local sports memorabilia. Great smash burgers and fried pickles (both $7 during Happy Hour) and their beer list was solid. They've always got something from Holy Mountain, Mirage, Chuckanut, Urban Family, Stoup, Lowercase, pFriem, and Old Schoolhouse on tap.

Will piggyback this onto this thread rather than start a new one. I’ll be in the area split between pdx and Tacoma area visiting family
July 10-16+ maybe a little later.
Have a couple things already set up, but could definitely squeeze in a bottleshare or two.
Will be bringing a lot of Hill, SARA, Cantillon, random stouts/bw.

Hoping for some local intel here….going to be in Seattle week after next. I see Fremont has rusty nail bottles right now. Any places in the city that might have other Fremont barrel aged bottles shelf turding?

A1 Hop Shop in North Seattle (near the edge of Seattle and Shoreline) posted some pics of a ton of bottles on their IG feed a couple weeks ago. Ken's Market in Greenwood would be a good spot to check and maybe Chucks.

The local fervor for Fremont isn't what it once was.

Perfect - I really appreciate you sharing. Looked up Hop Shop and they have exactly what I'm after. I traded for many of those bottles years back when they were hard to find, awesome to hear that they're easily acquired these days. Thanks!!

Super Deli Mart in West Seattle usually has a fairly good lineup of older Fremont barrel aged stuff. You could probably call them before you make a trip out there. (206) 937-1442

    The website is superdmart.com.

I live within walking distance of Super Deli Mart and can confirm that they still have a very large selection of Fremont BA stuff, as well as some other interesting vintage bottles.

Out of curiosity, what are the prices like there? Are they pretty close to the original MSRP, or are they a bit higher than that?

Was over in Walla Walla this has past weekend, and the Thief wine store downtown had an exceptional selection of BA Fremont stuff, including some older bottles (Coconut Bbomb from a few years back for example). However, most everything was priced in the low to mid thirties (even current or recent bottlings), which I assume is likely a factor in the beer sitting on the shelf for so long (that and the fact that Summer weather in Walla Walla is not exactly conducive to drinking high octane, ba stouts).

They seem to be mostly around $25-31, not bad for beers that are in some cases 6-7 years old, but not as expensive as you'd find in a place that carefully cellars their bottles.

Low to mid-$30s isn't that bad at all for vintage bottles, seeing how the new releases are hovering around the $30 price point.

I completely agree, but I know a lot of folks are extremely price conscious. I was just wondering and speculating as to the possible reason they still have so much BA Fremont stuff on the shelf.

It's all that far distance to the exotic wilds of West Seattle that keeps people away. It takes a 20 mule team, a week, and an old-timey ferry ride to get there. Then ya gotta come back.

We visit some good friends in Seattle every 2 years or so, and we are going back this August. However they recently moved from a pretty central spot (convenient walking distance in between Cloudburst, Pine Box, etc) to the Georgetown area.

Having never been to Georgetown on any of our past visits this will be brand new. I've looked up the basic lists of breweries but if anyone has any particular priorities or must-hits from the lists, I'd love the heads up. It looks like Georgetown brewing and Machine House are some consensus places but aside from those I'm just guessing. Thanks!

With the bridge being closed the last couple years, that's pretty damn accurate.

Seapine isn't far away and worth a stop. Lower Case makes absolutely fantastic lagers. They share a building with Great Notion just up the street from Machine House. Full Throttle Bottles is across the street from Machine House and Mirage will be opening their brewery/taproom on that block soon-ish.

I second Seapine as well. Machine House, Georgetown, and Seapine are my 3 top picks for the area. Honorable Mention to Ghostfish, an all gluten free brewery/restaurant with good beers and really good food.

Speaking as a guy who was raised in West Seattle, this is a feature, not a bug. Emmett Watson, founder of the KBO society (Keep the Bastards Out), was a native of West Seattle.
