Cooler temps this morning, so I was out splitting and stacking more wood. The ten day forecast is all 90s, so I'm done with firewood for awhile.
Beer before lunch sounds like a plan.

Me, myself and I determined that it was high time for some more beer. Hamm's. $15.99 for the dirty 30. Can't beat the price for a good cheap beer. Cheers everyone!!

Enjoying an old fave that I haven't found fresh in ages. Managed to grab 4pk out of a yet-to-be-shelved case.

Gotta say it's not as glorious as I remember given the years of improvements to the style since I first thought this one was amazing.

Hey all,
This will be my one and done today. Got a very easy 5 miler on trails done earlier (at Garden of the Gods, pic below). Still can feel some weird hip wonkiness but it didn't hurt to run.
Now I'm sippin on this ORB Blocks of Light.

Todays tasty'n delicious treat is Founders Highball Drifter, an American Strong Ale, a catch all category for big boozy beers. This one is 54 weeks in the bottle, mostly refrigerated, doesn't seem as sweet as I remember, and at pushin'72 I don't rememer much anymore.......so enjoy what's in yer glass.......

.....and fills yer ears........sounds as good as I remember........

Afternoon BA's! Today's first choice is from Firestone Walker. This one is a winner if your palate is acclimated to gin. The base beer is the ever-solid Helldorado and rested 14 months in fresh oak Vermont gin barrels. My palate is getting a touch of vanilla and caramel that is rounded by a fairly strong presence of the barrel aging which rounds out the sweetness perfectly. This one is not for everyone as gin is pretty flavorful and different but for my palate it works. Fun beer to try - 4.24 overall.
