    Good Afternoon BA's,

Good to be back after a few days away. Have recently discovered Andechs beers at the Total Wine in Greenville, SC. Fantastic beers so far with today's being a Weissbier Hell. Classic notes of banana, cloves, and bubblegum. The mouthfeel is very soft, smooth, and satisfying.
Enjoying some 70's tunes on Sirius today.
    Cheers!

I've had that one. Enjoyed it. But what I remember more than any other Andechs beer is their doppelbock, which I had in Germany in the late 90s. That's kind of my number one white whale.

I'll admit, I was a bit dubious of it's #12 ranking, but this is a legit example of the style (to me). Though checking the rankings makes me sad not to see U Fleku at #1 :grinning:

The way we become disenchanted w/ beers is silly. This one is still amazing in every sense of the word. Cheers!

Iv been tempted to ask 1 of my go to breweries. Seems like a waste to toss them after 1 use imo.

Totally agree on the doppelbock. Had it a few weeks ago, rated it a 4.46 - world class for sure!

The bottling code date is a bit incomprehensible to me although I think it is fair to say the beer was bottled in 2017. The 'best by' date is what I'm not sure about. Regardless, for a strong golden ale, at about five years of age, this is quite drinkable. Perhaps, with a fresher bottle, I could get a better grip on this beer as a whole, but I wouldn't turn down another dusty bottle of this relatively "ancient" European delight.
