    Well, that is interesting.

I do not have any figures but I have read several times that for Boston Beer Company Sam Adams Octoberfest beer is a top seller (as regards beer brands).

With Troegs deciding this year to introduce their Oktoberfest as a seasonal beer this adds a bit more competition to the local/regional Oktoberfest market.

    Cheers!

I remember Munchen on Pumpkin... infinitely drinkable for a pumpkin-ish beer.

Side story: Hit the DB Outpost with some family last week for summer vacation. Majority of us were sorely disappointed with what was offered, so much so that people were swearing off returning. I think from now on I'm just going to peek at the tap list or call before going, see if something non-IPA-like or dark or up-our-alley would be on the menu.

I just picked up a 28-pak case of Sam Adams Octoberfest at the Costco in Niles, IL. And it's only August 2!! Sheesh. I remember when I considered myself lucky if I could find even one brewery's Octoberfest by Labor Day!

Does this mean that Christmas beers will be hitting the shelves by Labor Day?

I have driven by the Outpost but never visited. Your post motivated me to view the tap list, Yup, mostly hoppy beers (IPAs) and plenty of fruited sours.

My absolute favorite of the Dallas locals showed up today. Manhattan Project apparently just canned these last Wednesday (7/27). Also noticed Hofbrau which is the first non-year round import I've seen.

Went beer buying today and there were tons of Oktoberfest beers, Saw Founders for the first time. I’m not a big fan of this style so I passed. It’s also 94 degrees out. There were a few pumpkin beers as well as Anchor Xmas from 2021, not even on sale.

    Enjoy

I thought being a massive fan of Oktoberfests was a requirement of being on this site? It certainly seems that way.

The USUAL PUMPKIN BEER SUSPECTS are out. New Belgium Atomic Pumpkin (which goes hyper fast past few years), Schlaflys, Southern Tier Pumking and Warlock, 2 Roads Rosemarys Baby. I picked up some Blue Point Big Mother Pumpkin (impy pumpkin I've never had before... hooray). It could be worse... it could have come out last week of July which I've definitely seen some years.

Also some Ofests out... eyeing up Wasserhund and Center of the Universe... may get those next few weeks.

I grabbed the last 12 pack of Genny grapefruit Kolsh, really refreshing on those hot days and I paid $8.49.

    Enjoy

Not picking on anyone here, but I always find it funny when people talk about it being too hot for OFests. Even the more amber Marzen versions aren’t exactly heavy, and the Festbier versions can be downright crisp. I get the association with the fall, but it’s not exactly a winter warmer. I just don’t see the style as being too big or heavy to drink on warm weather. That’s all. Cheers!

My guess is is the association with colder weather. I have problems drinking AAL in the winter months. Just does not do it for me.

    Enjoy
