Good to know, thank you. We actually weren't too far from Bellngham at one point in our endeavors. Spent a night in Burlington after whale watching in Anacortes before heading east on 20 into the North Cascades National Park before continuing over to Chelan, Stehekin, and eventually Mt. Rainier. We'll definitely be back to that part of the world hopefully within the next few years and would love to make it up to Bellingham.

Unrelated to beer: I was blown away by the natural beauty that exists in your fine state. Quite the treat for someone who lives in flyover country!

My wife was born and raised in Nebraska but moved here for college in 1999 and never once considered leaving. The Pacific Northwest really is a magical place and she helps me (WA native) not take it for granted.

Does anyone know if any breweries in Seattle are offering tours? Keen to try do one whilst there but struggling to see any.

Also wondering what breweries may be best for barrel aged stouts other than Fremont that I should check out? Cheers

Tours aren’t a regular thing, they normally happen on special occasions like WA Brewer’s Open House Day.

Reubens, Holy Mountain and Burke Gillman do big BA stouts, but they’re all seasonal limited releases so you’ll need to time it right and be here the day they hit. HM does them randomly with little notice and everyone else does them during the Fall/Winter.

I'll defer to @distantmantra on this, but maybe give some place like Fremont or Reuben's a call to ask about a possible tour. If you did it far enough in advance, my guess is that they would probably try to accommodate you.

    Good luck.

Yeah, if you target a couple breweries you want to tour, and email them a couple weeks out, they'll likely get you in. Remember that a lot of our breweries are physically small, and often have space limitations, especially during production times. Most will try to accommodate you you, but some simply can't.

Fremont's Ballard production facility is the largest around and probably more on the scale of what you're expecting out of a tour.

Got back from our biennial Seattle trip, new-to-us Georgetown edition.
As usual BA doesn't steer us wrong, really enjoyed all of Georgetown brewing, Machine House, and Seapine, with the latter being our favorite new spot of the trip.
I missed that Great Notion was 21+ so we stopped at the door, turned around and went to Lower Case instead, which was just ok. They were weirdly out of several listed beers, maybe it was just bad timing.
And finally we had a few Freemont beers watching the Sounders unfortunately lose :slight_frown:. And thanks for the Full Throttle bottles rec, it was a convenient stop for a few take home Freemont BA beers.

Question for the Cloudburst group. The Cosmic Lust brewed there is different than the collab they did with Green Cheek, Pint House, Alvarado Street & Cellarmaker? Where was the collab brewed? There at Cloudburst or Green Cheek? I just picked up a 4pk at GC’s Costa Mesa location. So delicious. I had the original Dust. I’ll be there at the Western location Saturday. Wondering if I should pick up a 4pk if it’s different from the collab.

My understanding (based on the cloudburst IG) is that it's the OG recipe brewed at/by each brewery. so, surely to be minor variations, but basically the same beer. so the GC version you had was brewed at GC.

EDIT- that said, seattle folks. i'm looking for some. see my post in the locals section of the trading forum....

i think the hop bill is a bit of a variation from the original. not sure simcoe was in the original, nor is it in ABs version. galaxy was definitely in the original, and never has been included in the AB version. 7.8 percent is the ABV, 8.2 percent is the boozy gas station version.

I'm flying into Seattle to catch some concerts at the Gorge in the coming weeks. It appears I may be in the minority around here, but I love IPAs/Pale Ales and especially love hazy IPAs. I have the chance to visit ONE brewery on our way from the airport to the Gorge. It doesn't have to be on the way. But it has to be the best possible location for canned IPAs that I can find. I want to buy a bunch and pack it into the campground. I was thinking Fremont but does anyone have a different/better suggestion?

    Thanks!

Why not stop at a bottle shop and get a variety of local cans to go. I’m not sure which way your heading from SeaTac but you have Full Throttle Bottle right next to Great Notion Georgetown (north of SeaTac). I’m sure there’s plenty of bottle shops south towards Tacoma area. Our last trip to Seattle we stopped at FTB and I grabbed cans from Fort George, Cloudburst, Holy Mountain and others to bring back home to LAX.

I'm moving to Seattle from Chicago last this week and looking to get some recs for Oktoberfest/Marzens for the fall. Any favorites?

I'll be in town with a couple of buddies for a long weekend. Can anybody recommend any breweries or bars that have trivia nights? Specifically, Sunday or Monday nights?
We're staying in the Eastlake area, but with the convenience of Uber can travel a bit.
    Thanks
