Highlighted the Oktoberfest after More inquiry. Saw the packs at Binnys. So at least I know they've made those this season.

Tried my first Goldfinger Original today -- between this, Roaring Table, Art History and More -- the Chicago area is nailing the lager game.

@Jaycase -- the Goldfinger Pils is a keeper, too.

Very nice! Glad you were finally able to come across their beers. They are releasing both a Märzen and Festbier for Oktoberfest this year. Hopefully, both are being packaged and distributed as well. If so, keep a lookout.

That Original is glorious. First thing I had from them and instantly fell in love. I wish I could get Roaring Table in my neighborhood, still have yet to try them.

It's a funny conundrum, because Goldfinger only became available to me up north here by way of one retailer. And fortunately, that retailer is pretty close.

But if you get the chance, find some RT, they're in the same league.

Its not far, I’m in Portage Park. Used to be a quick trip when I was in Logan. I just don’t traverse too far these days for beer, cuz lazy. Good to know though, gives me a reason to go back there (not that there aren’t plenty of other good reasons).

Northwest side folks: Lincolnwood Binny's has a ton of Oktoberfest beers available as singles for the mix-your-own 6 pack. Today I grabbed:

    Bell's Octoberfest
    Victory Festbier
    Lake Effect Oktoberfest
    Empyrean Aries Marzen
    Eagle Park M.C. Hammerschlagen
    Left Hand Oktoberfest
    Alesmith Aleschmidt Oktoberfest
    Weihenstephaner Festbier
    Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier
    Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen
    Allgauer Festbier
    Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen

Hopefully all Binny's offer singles of every Oktoberfest beer they stock, but this is a head's up in case they don't (and like me, you crave variety but don't want to buy 72 beers in a single swoop.

I didn't take inventory, but the Gurnee Binny's has a good pile growing -- with many of the above in stock... HB wasn't in last week, but the beer guy said it was expected.

That’s a nice haul! Elmwood Park’s singles section was sad and depleted a couple days ago. Lots of empty spots, I think a single bottle of Hacker Pschorr was the only Oktoberfest they had. So I put together a mixed 12-pack at Beermiscuous and will pick it up tonight.

My Binny's finally got some Goldfinger in for the first time last week. Just had the Pils last night. In the words of Klay Thompson, Holy Cannoli.

Algonquin. I do not think there are any left on the shelf though.

Wow, that's reaching further than they have so far.

I think my local (private, not Binny's) Grayslake retailer got 2 cases each of the Original, Pilsner, and Mexican Lager -- wonder how much is left?

Not sure if the Goldfinger reputation has reached this far yet.

I've honestly been bugging them for months to try and get it. So hopefully this continues.

Binny's website is now showing Gurnee as stocking Goldfinger. Might be worth a call if it is closer for you.
