    That's always interesting to me. I have zero cold tolerance. Once I get cold I cannot get warm. Makes me miserable. My wife is opposite. She would run our A/C at 68°F all summer. When she was pregnant with our twins (24 years ago) I wore a sweat shirt in the house all summer but...I didn't complain one bit for obvious reasons.

    Master Shredder4 from The Veil. Quadruple dry-hopped for his & her pleasure. Aromatic & tasty. Really flavorful despite the lower (5.5%) abv. Love, love, love the bitterness on the back end. Peace...

    Mother Bear, blueberry farmhouse saison, from Norway Brewing (Maine).

    500 ml bottle, into a tulip glass.

    This beer is a 3 year process to make, aging on oak barrels. I’d been saving the bottle since last year, expecting it to be very special.

    Appearance is a rich, dark mahogany color, deeper than a red ale. Thin, fine-bubbled head around the edge of the glass. It looks beautiful, unlike any other beer.

    Smell is funky forward, with vanilla, oak, and blueberries.

    Taste is very funky (a product of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast)? Very, very funky. Vanilla forward, blueberries in the back, slight lemon aftertaste. Truth be told slightly medicinal, though not much different from many other farmhouse saisons.

    Feel is a little thin, slightly astringent.

    Overall not bad at all, though I was hoping for a little more blueberry and less funk. If you’re a fan of funk you’ll love it (I guess I’m not as funky as I thought).

    Contrary to the earlier woes of @Resistance88 - we have a lovely evening here. Temps are seasonal, but humidity is low and there’s a nice breeze. So, it’s time to masochistically feed the mosquitoes, with a beer that sat in the fridge for well over a month, probably two (but bought fairly fresh):

    Still a nice bitter edge to a light caramel malt opening, so no real issues with the aging, such that it was.

    Listening to a live recording an old friend did of an older friend’s band many years ago. This is the band much more recently (I’ve posted videos of them on occasion - a sax driven rock jam band of the mid-late 90s from VA);

    Ha! That looked like a crushed can at first and second glance. Looking at it now, it’s not obvious why it fooled me twice.

    Enjoying before 8-13-2022 my last RuinTen. Flipped over to Spotify and spinning Pink Floyd's Animals...spent the summer of '83 with one of my older bros in Houston. Was introduced to some excellent music that summer and some decent ganj which paired well with Animals @budsNpils .
    Cheers!

    FWIW, the beer is *much* better slightly warmer (actually less cool). The bottle recommends drinking at 40°. It’s now about 55°, and I like it MUCH better!

    The funkiness is now subdued, and the slightly medicinal taste gone. It’s much more complex, richer but also livelier at the same time, with more blueberry notes forward (though not at all sweet, still definitely farmhouse saison). It now tastes exotic and special.

    Ignore the ‘serve at 40°’. I change my assessment from ‘not bad at all’ to ‘excellent.’

    What a difference a few degrees of temperature makes.
