What beer are you drinking now? #3584

Good morning BAs! Thanks @Shanex for getting things rolling this morning. Dog and cats fed, some unpacking going on…a session ale to start the day - “Just Beer” by Northern Monk:



A watery pounder. Biscuit malt and not much else in this whopping 3.4% ale.

We plan on heading into Winchester later today and poke around the farmer’s market. Until then, Cheers from Crawley (a village about 4 miles out in the country) UK!

 

At the only pub in the village having brunch and drinking a local microbrew on draught - Alfred’s Brewery’s “Saxon Bronze” blonde ale:



Drinks like a session (3.8%) with flavor! Bready malt, cereal, toasted biscuit with honey; very light citrus hops.

“Brunch” - poached egg on pudding and toast, bacon, tomato:



Next stop is Winchester (cross fingers). Cheers y’all!

 

Played golf with old friends yesterday, won a Yeti cooler in the raffle, had a great time, but I don’t think I am very popular with my wife this morning. Great brewery and NEDIPA. Cheers all.

 

I hear ya Tim. How about taking her on a day trip up to Woodstock or Castle in the Clouds (if open)? Cheers mate!

Good day BAs! Thanks, @Shanex, for starting today's thread! Sorry to hear you're not enjoying the heat - guess you're not part reptile like me. Here it was down into the low 80s yesterday and I about froze. My garden is mostly veggies from this area with a couple of more tropical dudes - bitter melons and lemon grass. This summer has been beautiful for both the plant and me - muggy!
@DoctorZombies, glad you seem to be enjoying your UK time! I love it "over there" and hope to get back again this fall - the pub lifestyle fits me to a "T"! Enjoy the flavorful low ABV brews!

Have a good Saturday. Had a long sleep after work because of nausea, but I have been up since 6 AM. Actually a little chilly out! Probably going to a brewery or pub later in the afternoon. Might take a hike somewhere since it has been a while, and it looks not too wet out.

Heady Topper from when I was in California in April. Amazing classic Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial profile as usual. World class tier juicy and dank balance of resins. 4/18/22 is still pretty fresh IMO, and its been in a fridge for all but the flight home lol.

Wow!! If the following is true then THIS is a scary thing. From the UK Standard (news) just now about the EPL games that are broadcasting live. ..
Due to ongoing 3pm blackout restrictions in English football, today’s match will not be televised live in the UK. However, you can watch highlights on Match of the Day on BBC One from 10:20pm. 7

So, now they tell you what you can't watch or stream in the UK ... and when?? Sounds like the Gestapo have taken over. Can anyone truly verify this???

New England Brewing - G-Bot

Despite its lack of freshness and refrigeration, this is still delicious. I wonder how it tastes when fresh.

 

At my favorite beer bar in Winchester drinking a NEDIPA style from Phantom Brew, “121Gigawatts”, an NEIIPA style:



Not well balanced and astringent; emulates much of what I don’t like about the style. Cheers!

 

Always love this one.

 

One for the road (I’m not driving) - Unity’s “Swim Club”, a WC style pale ale:


A pretty avg pale ale…nothing made me think WC…kinda dull, skunky/earthy hops…reminds me of many mediocre beers I’ve had…
