Good day BAs! Hope the sun is shining where you reside! We're starting of rainy and cool (AGAIN) as we inevitably slide into winter. No more zucchini until at least Saturday, when I may begin to harvest tomatoes (picked first two yesterday). After Mrs. Lizard's doctor appointment this afternoon, it's off to Middlebury, IN, for an overnight stop before hitting Shipshewana for the Amish quilt stuff Thursday AM. Then north to Grand Rapids, MI, for a quilt show and beer FOR ME! Just kind of a break in the stay-at-home-domestic-stuff-isn't-retirement-fun.
Today's New Breakfast Beer is yet another from the Hair of the Dog brewery/warehouse emptying:

Really nice English Barleywine, to my senses very much like liquid caramel-coated apples! Rating 4.02, rDev -3.8%.

Good afternoon BAs! Just finished a 2 1/2 hour walk through the neighboring farms with Mrs. Z and the dog, and stopped at the pub on the way home - I’m having a pint of cask ale, Saxon Bronze Ale by local Alfred’s Brewery:

Light body with plenty of malty cereal taste. Will head back to the pub for dinner reservations as it is literally the only commercial enterprise in this village of 96 homes and farms. Cheers y’all!

    Fellow advocates.

This morning we leave for Leadville - I'll have my laptop so I can "lurk" as need be for the next few days, with only N/A options for me until SUNDAY.

Saturday-Sunday is going to be the hardest physical thing I've ever done, the Leadville 100 trail run. It's daunting, I've done what I can for training (for an older dude,) so the rest is up to my bones, muscles and the fates. 4 a.m. departure Saturday, 15,000+feet of climbing, out and back, up and down, between 9,200 - 12,500 feet of elevation the entire time. Woof. 10 a.m. Sunday cut-off for a "buckle."

Just know I'll be thinking of this community as I grind for the finish. And I'm not kidding.
All the best, looking forward to rejoining the circle of beer life after Sunday morning.

    And cheers!

Best wishes in that race !! It is a brutal course as you know. I’ll try to ride the entire 2400 mile Tour Divide , but not dare the 100 mile Leadville route.

That Leadville 100 trail run looks awesome to me (and daunting too). Getting back in shape (somewhat) myself this year when it comes to running. But Leadville 100 would be way above my level at any time I'm afraid
Have a good run and keep us posted!
    Cheers

Raining this morning, enough that we're not golfing.
Might as well drink my coffee.

Damn this is hitting the spot. A tasty more old school IPA. I can't complain about anything with it. They make me want to keep drinking them thats a good sign there.

Even tho drought conditions exist Lady DeWitt & I were able manage certain trees/shrubs this summer so to bear fruits. With the exception of some hazelnuts that I plucked, it's all for critters. Put your Hamm's together for mother nature. I planted these trees whilst enjoying beers. I talk to and touch them whenever I can which is often as I'm often in the yard slowly plowing thru a few beers. Esp summer! Cheers!!
