Fresh off the boat. Grabbed a few 4 packs. No 6 pack bottles yet. Just cans and 12 pack bottles

So, I stopped by Costco yesterday, and that variety pack is $31.99. Considering the fact that Woodman's sells 12's of Paulaner for $15.49, I took a hard pass. I'll reserve my budget for some variety. Still no signs of HB and Spaten around here.

I got excited when I saw when I was in CT this past weekend. Till I checked the dates, last years…

we don’t get the festbier in nj for whatever reason, always have to grab when I happen to be in PA.

**ive only seen in NJ in the liter can glass combo.

In this case I’m gonna fault the store cause no other oktos were out, leftovers I’m guessing.

In other news I just bought my Troegs 12 pack:beers:

I can attest at least here we did receive this year's Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn in 4pk cans. Packaged on 05-17-2022 so fairly fresh for an import. Picked up a pack earlier this week.

Where did you see them? My local store has 6's, 12's and 1-liters, but not 4-packs.

    These were canned 5/23/22

I usually don't see left overs of Paulaner Festbier. It gets bought up quickly and I have to go hunting for more. Seems as if we really like our Oktoberfest beers here in Texas.

Only time iv seen a left over Paulaner festbier was that cheap stein + liter combo. They should just sell the liter cans would be way better imo.

AH Binny's. They had a nice Oktoberfest section off to the side of their normal beer aisles. Another Binny's I visited recently barely had any Oktoberfest presence. Seems your mileage will vary by store.

That's the one on Rand Road? It has always had better selection of beers.

Yes it is. Yeah decent selection but certain brands aren't carried here vs other stores. I've liked the HP store in the past for its selection but do not get out there that often.

Couple notes from my first fall shopping trip...

I must have missed this beer the past few years but was surprised to see a black lager fall seasonal from ommegang...https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/42/507864/

I read a few BA reviews, does anyone else have a take on this beer? I've never tried an Ommegang lager.

I was also surprised that weihenstephan has still not showed up in NJ, here at least. They were actually unloading some weihenstephan hefe and pils and he said they didn't get in the festbier with that shipment...hopefully we don't get the shaft this year.

I've already enjoyed 2 bottles from the 6-pack I recently bought. . . I may have to go back and get the 12-pack of cans!

I normally don’t risk a 12 pack I’ve never had but with your post, the current reviews, and Troegs themselves all made me pretty confident in my decision.

2 6 packs was $24 or 1 12 pack for $20…I plan to crack one within the next few days. Cannot wait to try.

HB Fest just arrived at my local today. Will probably have a first bottle tomorrow.

No sign of Spaten. The beer department manager says he thinks the distro has it, but just hasn't released it.

BTW -- BBC is selling Sam Adams Octo for $12 a six these days? Easy pass with so many other good ones.

I had an HB last week  and your struggles with spaten mirror mine with weihenstephan; especially when I know there are 500 ml cans floating around somewhere

Yeah, my store has Weihenstephaner bottles, but no cans. And all of the Paulaner packaging, but the 4-pack cans.
