As expected, Beer Temple was announced as the host of Zwanze Day on September 24th. Any idea when we can expect details?
Hopleaf hosted this last time it was in Chicago (2019). Their package was $50 (in pre-hyperinflation dollars) and included one Zwanze and one additional Cantillon or Belgian pour (not sure of the size - perhaps 5-8 ozs) and a tee-shirt. I didn't buy the package, but was able to buy and share other bottles of Cantillon they had not in this $50 package, on a first come first served basis when they opened at noon, two hours before they started the Zwanze and Cantillon pours included in the $50 package. (I had to leave anyway for a Sox doubleheader). I really had a great time despite not having the $50 Zwanze + 1 pour. The Beer Temple package includes three additional Cantillon pours, plus "guest beer", coffee, "food" and a Cantillon glass (sans tee-shirt). Will consider based on the price, but with their smaller space, it may be ticketed only to enter, and likely be $125-$150 ticket based on the additional Cantillon and other beer and food included.
I'm wondering if they are going to have it inside and in parking lot? Would be a better option to accommodate more guests.
Thanks for posting. The package is a good value for what you are getting, and it's smart and fair the way they are selling tickets (avoiding ticket scalpers, plus smart to boost 9/10 store sales with people showing up to buy the tickets and likely sticking around and/or buying beers to go with them). Wouldn't expect anything less from The Beer Temple, really love their transparency and thoughtfulness throughout the year on high demand events/products.
Awesome. Was all outside in parking lot. Great food and crowd. Aside from a foamy keg of St. Gil causing an initial line, no complaints.
Zwanze was unexpectedly amazing. Magic Lambic, San Bleu, St Lam Guests: Scratch Sycamore on cask, the Keeping Together beer, Off Color had an amazing ba old ale on. Let's just say there wasn't a bad beer there
