Johnny Winter Captured Live, the rhythm guitarist/2nd lead Floyd Radford worked as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin in Orlando. I've spoken to him a few times in the past 5 years and he said it was the time of his life, then he was ready for stability....."All the songs are basically vehicles for his guitar playing, sometimes performed in unison with [second guitarist Floyd] Radford. Radford accompanied the group on their fall 1974 tour of Europe and their Fall/Winter 1974-75 tour of America. The European tour was the first for Johnny Winter in more than four years and included sold-out dates in London, Paris, Munich, Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Stockholm". I'm going to check our locator system tomorrow to see if he retired.

Another excellent Hunterdon County [NJ] beer from Odd Bird Brewing. This is the Larke Pale Ale. Super balanced. Goes great with some spicy food. Crushable.

"An American Pale Ale. Easy drinking and crisp. Made from a single type of malt and a single
    type of hop.
    Hops: Mosaic
    Malt: Maris Otter
    ABV: 5.7%
    Yeast: US-05"

My Coltrane rain dance didn't seem to work. Changing up genres ha, maybe a Texas songwriter will help. With The Late Great Townes Van Zandt spinning.

Another Saint Arnold H-Town Pils, excellent as always.

Wondrous Dream Box DIPA. This is the "double" version of Sleeping Chamber, which is as close to an exact replica of OG Alpine Nelson that I've ever tasted. Is it a great, even excellent beer? Yes. But it loses the subtlety and finesse of Sleeping Chamber, delivering more of an intense, Other Half-like wallop. Still a little green (canned just a week ago), I'm guessing it will mellow a little over the next couple of weeks, but I'm really waiting for Sleeping Chamber to come around again.

Chicken looks awesome, reminds me of an extend cut from The Lord of the Rings, Sam and his salt, just in case they can make a roast chicken along the way ha.

At Neon Desert Brewing, rebranded this February from Beer District Brewing. First call an eight ounce pour.

Neon Desert Brewing Early Out IPA

Brewer Notes: $4 8 oz draft. West Coast IPA with Mosaic, Simcoe, Centennial and Citra Hops. ABV 7.8%, 82 IBU.

Appearance: Draft pour into snifter. Cream rich bright white head, orange bronze base, nominal carbonation leaves generous lacing. 4.25

    Aroma:
Sweet citrus, mango and pineapple. Strong and inviting. 3.75

    Taste:
Very bitter syrupy pine concentrate, pucker up. Mike Pineson Knockout. Took aback at first, digging this and liking even more as I work through the half mile post. Solid option. 4.5

    Mouthfeel:
Dry, bitter, resinous. The pine’s pith. Not for the faint hearted or pastry fanbois. Full creamy body for the style, nominal carbonation, dry pine bitterness joyfully lingers. 4.5

    Overall:
First sip was a shock to the system, and loved it more with every next sip or gulp. Old school to the max, have a side water for your tongue to recover from desert like dryness. Regretting I only ordered 8 oz, but more are on the horizon this (and future) trip(s). 4.5

Some beers write their own songs.
