The rain stopped so maybe someone will join me for an award winning American Lager, Midwest Royalty. Easy drankin' for sure.

 

Hop Butcher Crinkle Cut APA (100% Idaho 7). My first single-hopped Idaho 7 beer. Didn't realize how tropical this hop can be. Pineapple juice, ripe papaya, ripe tangerine, ruby red grapefruit, some guava, grapefruit peel, herbaceous dankness, resinous pine. Packs a lot of flavor for 6%. Hop Butcher's pale ales always deliver.

 

Picked this up this week - am I happy to have another IPA versus a nice festbier or marzen from Sierra Nevada? Seems like a strange decision for them to make - this beer is ok - would have preferred to buy a real seasonal from them!

 

Shimmer, an absolutely gorgeous IPA from 3 Sheeps, featuring Citra, Enigma, Nelson, & Sabro. Maybe you had too much too fast…

NBW cross-post. Interesting beer. @Danmullens1, not sure if I would call 3 Sheeps Brewing's Shimmer absolutely gorgeous, but I will drink one next to provide more of an assessment. What is gorgeous is 'da new Green Bay Packers sideline cap. I went to pick one up at Lambeau Field this morning and saw this going down. I may do the same thing one of the next times I get married.

 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, my friend the fact it is double dry hopped and was as clear as the Jack’s Abby beer I drank previously is quite impressive.

Have a good Saturday. Woke up around 11 after being up to 2AM watching MST3K bad science fiction films. The Pumaman and Women of the Prehistoric Planet. I saw Blow for the first time 2 days ago, and that is an amazing film with Depp. I will definitely find the novel.

Had a small snack just now of Elizabeths Pizza leftovers. Italian combo and meat stuffed.

Been a while since I tried a @FBarber NBS BIF beer. I still have a lot to try. Dovetail Hefeweizen. He sent the Willi Becher glass as well. Amazing all around. Solid head retention and spotty lacing on the glass. I swirled the yeast into the glass for the end. A lot hazier now. Aromas and flavors of big banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/woody/grassy bitterness, yeast spiciness, and light wheat/yeast tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-high carb, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light lingering resin drying, after the finish, no astringency. Highly refreshing, zero warming 4.8%. I would be able to throw these back at will. Very true to classic style, maybe a bit more stern on bitterness, but its amazingly balanced between classic yeast complexity, hops, and malts. Very flavorful for the ABV. 4.35

Full review in NBW 109. Bottom line, I enjoyed the series but this one was the lightest coffee flavor of the four.

Will be back for more later today.
