Hopefully, rain tomorrow. It’s been at least a month without a drop. That dirt is like talc. It will never bind like this. Closer that should take away any remaining sense of pain…The Abyss.

It's a nice beer, just not an oktoberfest, although it's very drinkable for a bourbon barrel beer. Pairing with these...

This is officially the best pork roast yet. I am using old beer from now on to make all roasts. It creates a unique umami odor filling the kitchen, that I realized I haven't smelled in years when I made a roast at my parents house with a ten fidy, and using red wine also makes a similar smell as I recall.



Also some medium rare brownies that were still amazing, the 8x8 pan was fine but had a small parchment fire at the end. Needs lower rack next time. Maybe a bit longer in the oven. I ate half, mmmm.


Drie Fonteinen oude geuze blend 28, season 16/17. April 5th 17 bottling. This is amazing as expected. Super barnyard hay/leathery green apple/grape action, with a crisp finish. Tart but not puckering or overly tannic on oak. Pretty refreshing, medium body. Balanced grainy malt, lactic acid, and oak tannin mouthfeel. Wow. 4.4

As I was out doing errands, I think I counted 4 rain drops on my windshield. While MA is nothing like the drought stricken southwest, this is getting bad. I’ve got multiple dying Rhodies in my yard. That’s a first.
