Brew Bus You're My Boy, Blue Hefeweizen 5.3% ABV at the House of Blues in Disney Springs. Also having a bowl of gumbo, which was much better than the blueberry hefe.

At home on the deck now, with a Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat, contemplating a nap. Retirement is nice.

Good afternoon, advocates. Settling in w/ a pint of Built Different from Deep Fried Beers. This is their first release since they started brewing at another facility. Very nicely done. Cheers.

It says so right on the can, so there you have it, it's a fine Pilsner.

Still hanging out in Banner Elk, NC and enjoying a Quad from The Lost Province out of Boone, NC after a nice hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nice beer surprisingly, notes of dark cherries and a touch of chocolate with a well-balanced finish. Would have it again!
    Cheers!

Moving right along to part 2 of the corned beef project - addition of carrots and cabbage. I also started a new sourdough starter today so I can get back to baking some artisanal sourdough bread. It will be roughly 7-10 days before it's ready for prime time. Nothing like a nice loaf of homemade sourdough bread. So while I mentally entertain visions of sourdough bread and corned beef and cabbage, having a Stone IPA.

Damn you consistently make things that I'd love to eat. I love sourdough bread!

Me too, and it's relatively easy to make once you have the starter. Comes out with a nice crusty exterior. I accidentally let my last starter die - once you have a good starter you have to feed it regularly to maintain it and it should last for years, the starter takes the place of yeast. Cheers!

Northern Monk Brew Co. -- Death
    Imperial stout
ABV: 12.0%; pouring temperature: 50 °F; canning info: BB 01/05/23

    4.43/5 rDev +7%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Near black mahogany color; clear on the pour, opaque in the glass; thick and spongy light khaki hued head; sticky streaks of foam inside the glass. The smell suggests sweet chocolate and licorice; mild roasted grains; tobacco and leather; subliminal booziness nestled deep within the sweetness. Heavy body; velvety; smooth, luxurious residual sugar feel; earthy sweetness throughout offset with a mild presence of alcohol warmth.

A no bullshit kind of imperial stout, balanced and forthright.

...the smoking of the meats is finished (and appear to have done well)...Mrs. BeerGoot wanted to try some sort of chicken thigh and tomato recipe based on some Trader Joe's ingredients (i.e., Zhug-marinated chicken thighs with some of our home grown tomatoes),so the sauce has been created, the chicken thighs marinating, and the tomatoes ready to cut up when needed...basically just need to broil the chicken breasts and cut up the onion and tomatoes to finish the meal...'Other World' Rocket the Wonder Dog is no undoubtedly licking his spiritual chops for this meal...

...sour dough bread is good stuff...usually order it (when available) when I got out for breakfast to complement the everything omelet, home fries, and sausage patties...strawberry jam or orange marmalade go well with the bread...

Westbrook Two Claw. This is a pleasant surprise find down here. Pretty standard tasting NEIPA but with a really nice thick body. Cheers!
