3 Floyds Brewing (2022)

I ordered 4 packs of Crushing Mass and picked them up yesterday. Ended up impulse buying an extra while I was there. I was only lucky enough to get 1 pack of last year’s batch, so I wasn’t missing out this year. Can’t wait to pop one (or maybe two depending on how my day goes) this evening!

 

Wonder if it will still be available at DL pickup.

 

i opted out of DLD packages this year as soon as i saw they were releasing this again.

i bet it will be though. pickups are in a couple weeks, right?

 

That was my hope last year and I missed out. Hopefully they made a bigger batch this year.

 

Late to this thread, but saw it just as I was enjoying my last 3 Floyd's Dreadnaught, 9.4% - it's still phenomenal even at 5 months (Total Wine had 4-packs on special for $11). Whoa, big pine! Cheers!

 

I hope so. I hear you can’t pick up online beer orders at DLD pickup FYI. So, hopefully its available on-site to go. It’s not on shelves in Indiana yet or at least that I’ve seen.

 

My understanding from the wording on the DLD website was that they just didn’t want you adding items to your check out cart when you had a DL package in it. I don’t think there is anything stopping you from placing a new order and picking it up from the brewpub during DLD release except perhaps needing to pick it up within a certain time frame of ordering.

 

You can pick up other beer just not in the dark lord line. You have to goto the kiosk

 

I messaged them about it and was told no online order. Come to kiosk for to go. If you guys hear something different let me know.

 

Last year, everything they had available was set out in the DL line, you just had to pay on the spot for any additional beer or merch you bought. That seems to be the intention this year as well, and so I hope to see it in that line.

 

There is nothing on their website saying they have disabled online ordering for Dark Lord Day. I would imagine anyone who places a separate order and goes to pick it up at the brewpub kiosk that day would have a legitimate excuse for chewing out FFF if there pre-paid order was not available.

 

I agree, it seems silly. Add a Crushing Mass 4 pack to your cart and look at the message at the top. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t but…

 

it was available at a separate outdoor table last year. no online ordering necessary.

 

cracked into a cheerteam earlier tonight. poured a little chunky but other than that highly enjoyable DIPA.

 

I stand corrected. Surprised they didn’t put that disclaimer somewhere more prominent before you add it cart…

 

Was going to sit this batch of Crushing Mass out even though I really enjoyed it but made the mistake of going into a Woodmans. $20.99? Ok, I'll buy that, too.

also, what’s the deal with Woodmans?? never heard of it before last week when lurking the New Glarus forum. seems like an, um, interesting place…

 

Pretty cool place. Not a lot of them in Illinois. A handful maybe? One is in Aurora. One in Bloomingdale I think. Couple other places up north towards Wisconsin. They have a liquor store, like... walled off within the actual grocery store, as opposed to just a liquor section like a Jewel or Meijer would have.

That's awesome they have Crushing Mass for $21. I paid $25 plus tax at Binny's. And I feel like that's a hell of a price, and I may go back for another.

 

That’s cheaper than the $23 @ FFF kiosk.

 

While I'm now a bit embarrassed to admit I paid the recommended retail price , had my first Crushing Mass and it delivers again imo. As long as FFF keeps releasing this each year, I'll keep buying it. Ticks all the boxes for me - price, packaging and performance (lame word choice but the alliteration!).
