I'm quite interested in the MKE Anny bottles. Right in my wheelhouse. I just have something happening that weekend and am headed the exact opposite direction as WI. If there's a proxy scenario or they do extra bottles for party goers, I'm all over it. As long as CW is doing well overall as a business, I say let the shitlords go hype up something else I don't care about.

Agreed bottles look good but will be stuck on the opposite side of the state that weekend as wel

Hopefully they'll do a limited Milwaukee taproom Black Friday release like last year!

If they were selling the leftover 1st Anny bottles after the party I'd be all over that Rye BA stout but my days of $80 ticketed bundles are behind me. The rest of the lineup doesn't move the needle for me if I'm being brutally honest. Sweet stouts are gross and I didn't see the words "west coast" in any of the IPA descriptions so they're also an easy pass for me.

But I've been loving the regular stuff that's coming out of that tap room. That batch of Happy Heron they did a couple months back was one of my favorite beers so far in 2022 and some of the lagers have been fun as well. The red rye IPA collab was another winner for me. Still need to grab the Vienna lager.

Easier and easier to get tickets for CW events. It’sa shame (they don’t get more hype, not for me because when I know about it I get it no problem) since there barrel game especially black gold is a top stout every year.

Black Gold and the Anniversary Stouts are superb and nicely priced . The Taproom is a long drive however but worth it IMO.

Agreed both are very solid. But being in the middle of nowhere doesn’t help them, however with proxies since covid if I lived further away I’d try to take advantage of that.

These beers are no less amazing than they were 5-10 years ago. Maybe they brew more or maybe the hype died... that's completely ok with me so I can easily obtain tickets and enjoy and share them with friends. I'm a fan for life.

I wish the packages were just a tad bit cheaper, or if there was a package that only had two bottles, I’d be all over it.

I mean, $100 for 5 bombers isn't bad at all, in the grand scheme of beer packages. Like $1 an ounce?

The hype has moved on to whiskey, IMO. Flippers have realized that there's really not much money to be made in beer anymore, and so they've moved on to where there's a metric assload of money to be made. I mean, you used to be able to get a premium for bottles. You had bottles of GI Prop going for $100-150 a pop. You had DL variants going for $200-400. That's just not really the case anymore.

Have they always done 4 bottles of Black Gold, or was there ever a Black Gold/Black Gold Rye Split for the core 4 beers? Seems like a lot of the same beer...

There's no reason for me to drive hours for beer when there is great beer available at my local liquor store. The competition for craft beer purchases is much greater now as the number of breweries making great beer is at an all-time high.

Also true. Combination of a few things, I would say. Tickets for this are still available. A couple years ago, they were sold out within 20-30 mins, tops.

The world of craft beer is definitely changing. I love tickets are relatively easy to get now because not that long ago it was not a certainty. As long as the weather isn't total dog crap me and the wife will enjoy a nice ride up and enjoy some delicious beers out in the middle of nowhere with some like minded folks.

My plan was to just cop a bottle of BG from the Mke taproom when they inevitably sell leftovers here. I don't mind making the drive that time of the year as it can be a nice excursion to also visit Holy Hill on the way or hit up other sightseeing byways along the route and make the most of the seasonal beauty. As luck would have it someone else who is going offered me a bottle so no hassle. These days the whales just swim up and beach themselves right at my front door.
