I feel for you my beer brother. I was diagnosed with Isaac's Syndrome some 5 years ago. Not fun. whatsoever! Beer may not be the cure, but it certainly helps.

Tonight’s Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Hinterland Packerland Pils (4.5%): A German Pils from Wisconsin for flavors of pale malts, grains, dry yeast with some Belgian fruit notes. A soft, clean, and light body.
    versus
    2) Surly Mozzafiato (5.0%): An Italian style pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of pale malt, bread malt with some orange citrus and Belgian spice. A smooth, malty finish.

    3) Burley Oak Citralaxy (7.5% canned 5/23/22): A NEIPA from Maryland with Citra and Galaxy for flavors of orange citrus rind, pine, some sweet blueberry. A tart rind and bitter pine finish.
    versus
    4) Toppling Goliath/Other Half 18 Hours from Brooklyn (7.8% canned 6/3/22): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra and Nelson for flavors of citrus, citrus flower, white peach and grape.

    5) Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of honey-flower, German biscuit, and smooth, pale Munich malts. Pale and lightly toasted.
    versus
    6) Hofbrau Festbier (6.3%): A German Festbier with flavors of earthy, pale Munich Malt. Bready, earthy, and toasted. Leans sweet. (All beers correctly matched blind)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Hinterland Packerland Pils: I don't think Mozzafiato hits the style well. However, this one drinks pretty nicely. Lower body and ABV, but some nice dry yeast, slightly fruity and hints of some complexity. Very drinkable.

    4) TG 18 Hours from Brooklyn: Fantastic. The best of TG Citra mixes with Nelson. Incredible flavors, slight astringency, very pleasant. I'm sure many have already tried this one, so I don't need to say more.

    5) Weihenstephaner Festbier: Fantastic honey notes, and I think this is the more accurate Festbier style. Hofbrau is more imperial, darker/toasted, and sweeter. Always has that earthy note. Weihenstephaner does it nicely by keeping it light and clean enough. A little hoppy, and extremely drinkable. Best authentic German Festbier I've tried this year.

Good afternoon, advocates. Looking over baseball lineups w/ this pint of Oblivex from Tired Hands. These cancel culture idiots need to go get laid. Yeah, I said that. Derive from that what you will, as it's related to the beer (brewery) I'm drinking. Cheers!

Working my way thru Terrapin's 2021 Reserve variant of Wake-n-Bake. Should have looked before i leapt in purchasing a four-pack for $22 as the "maple-praline syrup" comes off way too strong, overpowering a wonderful base beer. Walk of shame for buying a pastry stout that is not very good...:flushed:...oh well, at least an old John Denver tune Da Boss is spinning is putting a smile on my face.
    Cheers!

Sorry to hear about the potential medical issue but it sounds like it is nothing to worry about.

Congrats on becoming a dad soon! A girl. You better learn how to play doll house! I certainly did with both daughters and granddaughter.

My fingers are crossed on your impending diagnosis!

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have never heard of Issac Syndrome so had to goggle it to understand. It does not sound like fun. I hope you are doing good.

Speaking that beer helps, I was diagnosed with MS in 1994. Among many issue that came with it was a balance problem. Because of this the neurologist suggested I abstain from alcohol so I would not fall. I did for five years but then said the hell with it and started imbibing again. You are right that beer certainly helps!

Like @vabeerguy I had never heard of Isaac syndrome before either. Hope you’re still doing good as much as possible.

As for beer(s) (plural mandatory), yep it’s also sort of a cure first and foremost for the soul. This thread is mostly a happy place but most if not every of us have been, currently are and sadly will keep going through various unpleasant shyte.

To hell with it, as the Virginian bro wrote just before. Beer is good.

Weldwerks Juicy Bits IPA, on draft in Lee MA.

An excellent juicy NEIPA, not a juice bomb but balanced with modest bitterness on the finish.

Appearance is hazy, on the light side golden yellow.

Smell is juicy, papaya, orange, stone fruit up front but not overwhelming.

Feel is light on carbonation. Thin head.

Taste initially follows the nose, papaya, orange, stone fruit forward, light grapefruit in the back. A moderate amount of bitterness comes in on the tail and lingers.

I personally like juice bombs. Wisowmaker Blue Comet is my gold standard - all juice all dry hopped and no bitterness whatsoever. Juicy Bits isn’t that. It’s definitely a juicy NEIPA, but balanced with a modest amount of bitterness on the finish, but not too much. It’s superbly refreshing on a late summer day in the mountains.

What an incredible setting to start your beer day. Your updates show you are continuing to have a great day!

That's a heavy hitter for mid bike ride. Let's be careful out there.

Congratulations to all the Rauls, and hope you and your daughter do well throughout the next several months and beyond!

It’s a much more pleasant day, weather-wise, than the past two with lower humidity and a cooling breeze. Spent most of the day on a long walk and reading. Now enjoying this Helles from Cape May Brewing. Cheers!
