That one time when you hesitate because you figure, “hey, there has to be a ton, I’ve got plenty of time,” & also because you’ve been scarred by the multitude of hazelnut stout failures in the past…

Don’t feel too bad. I didn’t even know they were up and didn’t expect them to be from KC’s post above that they wouldn’t make it online to non-LC people so I wasn’t paying attention at all. I was sitting around and then saw these posts that it was gone. Oh well.

I think for me, a little too much kitchen sink ingredients with it and I likely would have passed anyways.

didn’t we kind of learn from the other week that these inventory numbers aren’t accurate?

I was gonna get a can just to try it but yeah I'm in the same boat as you. Not a huge hazelnut fan and for $20 I'd rather have a white label

I don't mind hazelnut, enjoy it actually. I thought someone mentioned it or not, Horus what not, but I enjoyed Goshawk's Grasp the one time I had it, 2018. I only thought of it since when I first saw the description it read like a Horus beer/collab. Meaning varieties of the same ingredients, hazelnuts/hazelnut coffee, chocolate dusted coconut/raw coconut.

For me, I'm really on the fence with coconut beers in recent memory; Achro Vibes, Medianoche Coco, and FOCOCO (yesterday). Happy to have tried them all, but none I'd need to revisit. I can appreciate coconut done well, but it might not be for my palate.

I've only had Blend #3 of the four and that was more of my wheelhouse for additions. Not a huge sample either, 4 cans, but I thought that beer fell apart a bit as it warmed. Much preferred it cold.

Unless you're The Veil. At least in my opinion of course. Never had anything from a brewery who does apple brandy as good or as consistent as they do. I swear they have the cheat code for that shit

Damn. I loved that beer too and it had coconut, fuck. Looking at my notes coconut didn’t dominate for me.

I didn't have the SP version but did have both Veil and Other Half versions. Not a big fan of any of them. The pastry stuff isn't really my thing at all. I have heard that the SP one was very balanced though so I'm sure plenty of others did like it

I saw another description and it descibes 44% being vibes in Missouri oak, these are the same oak vessels gabe uses for his oak stouts

also saw that half the barrel aged beer was a recipe called S’mores vibes. Someone mentioned s’mores vibes in for phil, looks like this one has it too!
