Happy Sunday ba. Got a bunch of ofest / marzens lined up. Starting with Paulaner. This stuff is really good. Very clean drinking with lots of hearty malt tones. Notes of brown bread, honey, and toffee. Despite that it’s not overly sweet and finishes dry and smooth.

 

Afternoon, everyone. I’m enjoying my first beer at Double Tap Brewing Company in Whippany, NJ, which just opened yesterday. It’s located in the former post office, which I know well having lived most of my life within 5 miles of the place. I’m starting with Monotone Pilot, an IPA hopped with Idaho 7, BRU-1, and Nelson. Very good for a new brewery. Cheers!

Another IPA at Double Tap: Flood Plain (the brewery is located along the Whippany River). This one is hopped with the tried and true combo of Citra and Mosaic. The taste is spot-on and the mouth feel is killer. Although the tasting room just opened it’s apparent they’ve been brewing these recipes for some time. Well done!

Same here. I found one once, but they wanted $310 for it, so I passed. Most are nabbed by liquor stores or bars/taprooms for promotional events, like selling small doses for big bucks, or raffles.
