This is completely hypothetical of course, but rules are simple:
Every beer you can currently buy from your local retail stores and/or from your local brewers are all sold for $4 per 16oz / pint serving size (can, fancy wax top bottle etc). What beers (styles, brewery, a specific beer etc.) would you drink less and what beers would you drink alot more of? Would you drink more beer or less beer? Just make sure they are beers you actually can acquire fairly easily for this discussion.

I wouldn’t drink more, but would probably enjoy the two odd beers I drink every day on average.

Of course it’s hypothetical because I if I could purchase Westvleteren XII (I can actually find it but…) for 4€, this would be my beer of choice.

Another one to name two would be anything from 3F (Drei Fountainen) which are excellent but nowhere in this range of price.

The big limitation is “currently buy from your local retail stores.” So my answer is I’d drink the same as my tastes don’t generally run expensive. I trade with Advocates for the unavailable beers. Including the unavailable would radically change the hypothetical and my answer.

If any of my local breweries made even a half decent Tripel, I'd be all over that. Alas, the flood of Murkbombs continues unabated.

It doesn't quite work that way. As most of us know, higher abv. beers require more materials in the wort. Would you suggest that the price of a low abv beer be adjusted to the cost of a high abv one. What about the cost of barrel aging.
I re read your post and I think I missed your point.

I'd drink a lot, maybe an alarming amount, of Perennial's Sump. Coffee stout that is heavy, filling, and full of coffee flavors. It'd become my new go-to when on shelves.

Another notable would be Prairie Artisan Ale's stouts or Firestone Walker reserve beers. Those would be a heck of a deal for $4 per 16oz can considering 12oz bottles go for $11+.

I wouldn't drink more because I buy just enough beers to drink on a 'schedule' of one per day. However, for $4 per bottle I'd probably replace some of my purchases with seasonal/specialty beers from Short's which are typically very attractive to me, but the price is $16 per 6-pack. Occasionally I'll spring for one sixer, but mostly I'll hold back because of that price.

I would buy alot less AAL's for sure and just stick with craft and Euro lagers instead when I want a light lager. Would buy alot more saisons, wild ales, lambics, Double Dry Hopped 8%+ NEIPAs BA stouts, Barleywines (basically more of all the big dark sweet beers), even fruit smoothies more. All of these styles I usually only buy on rare occassions due to the price, but would be in much more heavy rotation.

...like most others, I doubt if I would change anything...I can't think of any 'high priced' beer that I really crave at the moment, and those that do cost a pretty penny, well, they're likely extreme beers as far as taste and ABV, and while liking those kinds of beer every so often, I wouldn't jump to buy / consume more than I already do. My go-to beers already go for around the $4 per serving price range...

Probably 99% of the beers I drink cost $6 to $15 ea, so $4 would be a deal. Still, I wouldn't change my drinking habits at all. My purchasing and drinking are limited by health concerns, not money.

I'd like to add that if all of those $4 beers were available, I'd buy a lot of KBBS, Utopias, and similar high-end rare BA stouts. I'd buy them at their usual price if they didn't have artificially limited quantity and distribution.

I'm not paying $4/can for Two Hearted. Looks like it's bourbon time for me.

The $16 4x6 is not a better price than your $16 6x12 pack. You will spend more, much more over a year.

    Enjoy

Same here. For the most part, cost isn't a factor in what I decide to drink. Maybe if my favorite beer was Utopias or Westy, this might change some of my purchasing habits, but they aren't.
